Really each board has a Memory QVL and an everything else QVL.  I think you're looking at the non-memory one.

To get the best out of the ram you want to purchase, the first thing you should do is decide which mobo you're going to use.  Once you decide on the mobo, check the mobo's manufacturer website to look at the DRAM Quality Vendors List (QVL) for that particular motherboard.  Getting ram that is on the QVL is the only guaranteed sure fire way to ensure that you are getting ram that is 100 percent compatible with that particular motherboard.  If you get ram that is not on the QVL then there is no guarantee the ram will be 100 percent compatible with that board and as a result, there is no guarantee that you will get the best performance out of the new ram you just spent all your money for.
 
Better safe than sorry.  Check the QVL.

the x470-I is a smaller board, it has 2 less Ram slots and has a max ram capacity of 32GB. you also have less PCI-e slots. the x470-f has 4 ram slots with max of 64GB and more pci-e slots. it also has the IO Shield already on the MOBO

you can use them but they dont work with the cam software u need for the case lighting and rgb controler that is built into that case. gamers nexus talks about how dumb that smart thing is in the h700i review. i say get the non i one and get a cable mod rgb strip and those fans and run it off the mother board rgb header

If my GTX 970 can last 5 years in 1080P era than GTX 1070 can do much longer. GTx 1080 and up are nice, but GTX 1070/1070TI is a budget future proof

OP, you have to realize. nothing is "overkill" when you want to future proof yourself. + Higher frames take advantage of the 144hz. It would be dumb to buy a 1070 and expect it to last 5 years.
 
The way gaming is moving you'll need a good card if you want 5+ years. - If you EVER decide to go 4k, a 1070 won't handle it.

It would be good to know the budget and your country, but I'll go off of what you have listed so far.
 
1. If you're comfortable with overclocking, get the 1070Ti. It's cheaper and can be overclocked to the performance of a 1080. GPU overclocking is more straight forward than CPU overclocking.
 
2. Brand: Asus is great, especially for overclocking. I personally like EVGA's stuff way more and I'm a fanboy for their cards. If you get EVGA the FTW cards are the best (ftw, ftw2, ftw3). The FTW cards have nice RGB and aren't as big as the Strix cards. If an EVGA ftw card is cheaper or the SC black EVGA cards if it goes with your theme (it won't have RGB), then get it over the strix card. If the strix card is the same price as an EVGA card I think anyone would get that over any other card.
 
Future proofing is a focus for a lot of people unless you make a new PC every year. It mostly depends on what games and settings you're playing them at. Since you're getting a 144hz monitor, I assume you're playing csgo and games that run faster than 144fps easily. I don't see 144hz as useful/worth it if you're playing a bunch of games that get less than 144fps constantly. I got a 144hz monitor because I play a lot of csgo, which runs 144fps+ easily.

For future proofing it kind of depends on how far you are willing to go (aka how much to spend). You could get a 1080 and be set at 1080p for a decent bit, or grab a 2080 Ti and not need to upgrade for 1080p for (most likely) quite a long time. 
Nvidia: Get a 2080/Ti most likely. They do 4K ultra at 60fps, so 1080p ultra 144fps will be a cake walk
AMD: RX 590 is pretty ok at 1080p, but a Vega 56 or 64 is probably your better bet for "future proofing" here. AMD cards are generally behind and its harder to future proof with AMD cards. The Vega 64 is ~= to a 1080, so that's what I would go with in the red camp. But if you want to be set for a long time, go RTX

If all you want to do is game at 1080p 144Hz, a Ryzen 5 2600/2600X and a GTX 1070 will be great, and won't cost as much. If you want to go for 8 cores, the 2700 is a great CPU. And if you want a better GPU, I would recommend a 1070 Ti over a 1080 or 1080 Ti, since it performs almost as well as a 1080, and is considerably less. And like I said before, a 1070 is all you need for 1080p 144Hz. Your PSU is fine.

- Note that in any system, there will always be bottlenecking, just depends on how bad. You should be fine with a 2700X/2700 + 1080 Ti. RAM is fine too.
 
-It may be more worth it to spend more for a 2700x for the better stock cooler and higher clock speeds.
 
-Either a 1080 Ti or 1080 is fine, note that the 1080Ti may have an inflated price due to low stock, and you should consider an RTX 2080/2070 too, assuming they are at a reasonable price
 
-650W should be enough but increasing to 750W won’t do harm
 
-Thermal paste. If you’re overclocking, Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. If not, then something like Arctic MX-4 will do.
 
-1080/1080Ti are overkill for 1080p. You might want to look at 1440p 144Hz monitors without G-Sync, as most of screen tearing is eliminated with 144Hz. Unless you only do esports(like csgo),  then a 1080p Gsync TN 240hz monitor might make more sense. For 1080p 144Hz, a 1070Ti is sufficient for most games, maybe 1070 or even 1060 6GB.

Then buy a Ryzen 8 core, but if the 1700 is way cheaper just go with that, performance difference is maybe 10%, Ryzen 3000 is likely to be a large jump

The RX 570/580 GTX 1060 are all fine for 1080p, if you need higher graphical settings get a used 980ti, GTX 1070 or 1070ti(same performance as a 1080 with a 5 second OC)
 
Should get a case that has a mesh front so it actually has airflow though, like a fractal focus G, or Silverstone RL06, or Coolermaster H500 Mesh

2. 2700, 1700 is pretty cheap these days, consider that one too with something like a artic freezer 33 esports one

4. you could even go lower
5. Zowie has a high rma rate, be aware for that. what is your budget and location? I'll make something myself then
 

1.) There's always a bottleneck, but in this case you won't have to worry about it.
2.) 650W is way more than enough, at most system will draw ~300W
3.) Instead of a 1tb WD Black drive, get a higher capacity Blue one.
4.) 1080ti is overkill for 1080p. Get a higher resolution monitor.
