  1. I had a similar situation when I got an Atmos soundbar. If you plan to keep the TV for awhile I would suggest getting a soundbar that has an HDMI input on it. However, I have had issues with getting Atmos from my fire 4k stick to the soundar. Not an issue coming from my computer, but from what I've seen, the fire tv stick won't output Atmos from Amazon content unless it detects a 4k tv. Could be wrong but I haven't been able to get Atmos working on it yet.
  2. Awesome, I was most concerned about the motherboard and cpu compatibility, I thought it did have the flash bios option but wasn't 100% sure. Regarding RAM, I'm looking at 16gb, as that is what I'm currently using in a weird messed up three channel configuration. Do you think that is enough? also, is it worth the extra $10 for the 3200 ram, or could I overclock the 3000?
  3. The time is finally here! I've been waiting and waiting for the time for finally upgrading my old computer and actually building a new one from start to finish. My fiance and I share the desktop, I use it for gaming and she uses it for photo and video editing. I'm planning on spending between $400-500 for the system parts I need (cpu, mobo, ram, case). Here is what I'm planning on getting but would love suggestions on better pieces or deals for the system: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 Mobo: MSI Tomahawk B450 RAM: Corsair or GSkill, either 3000 or 3200. I'd like to keep costs down but also look nice so I'm between Trident Z 3000 RGB and Corsair Vengeance RAM Case: Personally a fan of the NZXT H500, but really anything similarly priced or similar looks. I'm bringing over my PSU (EVGA Supernova G+ 650 Watt), GPU (Aorus GTX 1060 6gb), storage (500gb SanDisk SSD that's rather new and Seagate 2tb drive), and my peripherals including two monitors. I'm planning on buying everything online, I'm on the US East Coast, no tech stores that are really close-by. Upgrading from an old Dell t5500 workstation with a xeon x5675. It works well, but it seems to be showing it's age and I figured that the 3600 would be a nice boost for editing and gaming. Also, the t5500 doesn't have SATA 3, so faster access to storage would be real nice. Am I on the right track or are there some better options out there for the price? Thanks a lot!
  4. The charging issue has happened at places rather than home. It's also a newer apartment and our other computers and electronics work fine so I'm pretty sure that it is the charger itself. The computer is still under warranty to we're planning on sending the charger back for a new one, but since it could take 6-8 business days we wanted to get a cheaper third party one for the time in between. My fiance does traveling for her photography business and is going on a short trip next week where she needs her computer so having to send back the charger and not having one for a week is not really possible.
  5. Hi all, So I am trying to help my fiance solve her problems with her surface pro. Basically what has been happening is that the charger won't always charge the computer when it is connected, which is quite problematic for obvious reasons. While we can usually get it to work after a few different outlets, but it is becoming more and more common for this to happen. Does anyone have any suggestions on a replacement charger or a brand to look at? I figured I would check around on here for a good one before buying because the last thing I want is a third-party charger causing more problems with the computer. Thanks!
  6. After installing RGB Fusion I have been getting BSODs when using or exiting out. I don't know if is directly related but it started right after installing. It says there is a problem with gdrv3.sys. Any idea what it may be? I'm thinking that I will just wait to deal with this until I build a new computer hopefully this summer, just won't get any of the sweet sweet RGB performance boost.
  7. Thanks for the tips, I originally just had Aorus but I got the others after seeing others suggesting them to use and wanted to try the options out there. I'll get RGB fusion and probably just go with afterburner. Thanks for the help!
  8. Hi all, I've been having problems running the Aorus Engine for my graphics card recently. I installed the program over the summer when I got the card and all was well. However in the past few months the program has not been able to run at all. It is set to begin on startup but it doesn't appear to be running at all. Additionally, launching it from the desktop both regularly and in admin mode brings up the prompt to allow changes but no program ever pops up. I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it a few times as well as uninstalling any other GPU overclocking programs I have (Precision Boost, Afterburner). Any suggestions on next steps? I would like to be able to to use it to set the fans and RGB on the card but having it for overclocking would be a plus. Specs: Windows 10 1809 Latest Aorus Engine and nvidia drivers The card is the Aorus GTX 1060 G6 rev.2 Thanks for the help!
