  1. I did do a clean install, updated my bios, and rolled back my gpu drivers. I was mostly worried due to the fact that I've read some pretty bad things about sentey PSUs.
  2. That's actually quite a relief. I got pretty worried after reading low quality PSU Horror stories.
  3. I don't have an extra PSU to test with. I know that it could just as easily be a problem with another component, but if the PSU fails its the only thing that could actually damage my PC. I've been wanting to upgrade my PSU for a while despite the random-shutdowns, so I thought that this would be a good excuse to do so. If we assume that these problems are a sign of a failing PSU, how urgent would it be?
  4. For about 3 years I've had a Sentey MbP750-HM 750W PSU. I'm aware that this is not a particularly high quality or reliable choice, but it has served me well. Recently, I have been experiencing random-shutdowns and black screens. I'm not sure that this is due to my PSU but it certainly seems like a possibility. I'm definitely going to replace it soon, but I was wondering if this is an urgent matter. I was planning on getting a new one in January, but if it could fail any day now then I would be willing to order a new one today. What do you think? Is this an immediate risk or is it probably ok to wait a couple of months? Thanks!
  5. That makes sense. I just changed my A-XMP profile. My motherboard is an X-470 gaming plus, and my memory is corsair vengeance 32gb 3600.
  6. Every once in a while when I press the power button to turn on my PC the fans will start spinning, and then it will turn off for a few seconds, only to then boot up normally. Is this normal, or is it something to be concerned about?
  7. A few months ago I updated my radeon drivers from 20.2.1 to 20.4.2, to find that nearly every game I tried to launch would crash. I quickly reverted back to 20.2.1, and didn't think much of it. After a few more weeks, I started to get short black screens every now and again when gaming. They were rare enough though that I didn't do anything about it. Today, I was playing red dead redemption 2, and started getting the black screens much more frequently to the point that it was hindering my gameplay. I decided to try and update my drivers again, and it lead to the same problem as before. After again reverting back to 20.2.1, I tried to boot up RDR2 and got an error saying my drivers were out of date. I launched the game anyway, and got 2 black screens in the first 10 minutes, but haven't had any other problems since. I'm really confused about what could be causing these issues. Thoughts?
  8. I noticed that in ryzen master it says that my EDC is constantly at 99-100%. After doing some research, I found that this can be fixed by changing my power plan from High performance to balanced. The problem is when I select balanced it reverts back to high performance after a few seconds. My EDC instantly drops when I select balanced, but then goes back up again when it reverts. Im really clueless about what to so. Thoughts?
  9. Thanks! One question, would running it at 3200mhz with or without A-XMP enabled be better.
  10. I just upgraded my ram today, and i have run into a series of problems. First of all, it automatically was clocked at 2300mhz when its supposed to be 3600. I manually changed that in the bios and everything seemed to be working fine until I encountered a BSOD while browsing the web. My PC booted up fine, but I decided to restart again and see if any bios settings could be the culprit. When i tried to restart, it wouldn't even get to the bios screen before turning off and rebooting again in an endless cycle. After manually cutting the power, it booted up fine again as if nothing was wrong. What are possible causes/fixes to this? 11. I just finished building a pc, and everything is working fine. The problem is my motherboard only has fan header. I ordered a splitter so I can connect my other fans, but it's not coming for a few days. Would it be ok to do some light gaming with only one fan, until the splitter comes? Here are my specs: Ryzen 5 2600 Gtx 1660 super B450m DS3H motherboard Thanks!
  12. These all seem like really good options, except I don't think I'm quite ready to replace my current keyboard yet. I was wondering if something like this could be a good solution until I'm willing to make a bigger investment. I haven't heard great things about these keypads, but unless there are any major flaws, or reasons not to get one, it seems like a fairly good solution to me. Thoughts?
  13. My current keyboard is tenkeyless, but is still to big. About how much more room could I get with a 60%? Thanks!
  14. Due to wrist pain, I've recently switched from using my wrist to game to using my arm. So far its worked out great. I haven't had any pain yet, and my aim has gotten a lot better. The only problem is that my mouse bumps into my keyboard when I'm trying to do large turns. If I move my keyboard to the left, my mouse has plenty of clearance but my keyboard arm gets in an awkward position. Would a one handed keyboard be a good solution to this problem? If not, what other ways could I go about solving it?
  15. A few years ago, I decided to buy a new mouse. I only thought I was going to do very casual gaming, so I didn't take anything into consideration, except for the ergonomics. After a while of searching, I ended up with the omnivi core gaming mouse due to its large size and heavy feel. Recently, I've been getting into more competitive gaming, and was wondering if I should upgrade to a g502, or another more reputable mouse. The problem is, I'm yet to find one that I enjoy the feel of more than the omnivi mouse. What do you think? Should I upgrade to a mouse with better specs, or keep the one that feels the best?
  16. I asked on another post what a good 150$ upgrade for my setup would be, and a few people recommended 144hz monitor. I've been surfing on Amazon and newegg, but I can't seem to find any 1080p 144hz monitors within my budget. Any ideas?
  17. So, I have exactly 150$ to spend on upgrades for my pc. I've looked, but I can't think of anything under my price point that would be worthwhile. Any suggestions to improve my pc or setup? Thanks! Here's my system: Ryzen 7 2700x X470 gaming plus motherboard Ripjaws v 16gb 2400 RAM Xfx Rx 5700 plus Sentey MBP750-HM Power Supply, 750w corsair mp300 120gb m.2 ssd Unknown 250gb ssd Unknown 1000gb HHD Acer G276HL 60hz 1080p monitor Arctic freezer 33 esports edition cooler redragon k552-r rgb mechanical keyboard logitech g502 mouse
  18. I'm wondering if I'd be able to make a little bit of extra money by finding old dell optiplexes for cheap, slapping in some ram and a GPU, and selling it as a gaming pc. I realize that this is an oversaturated market, so if this isn't a viable idea what other ways could I pick up a bit of extra cash with my computer skills? Thanks!
  19. Ha! I have 142 hours on skyrim as well.
  20. Do you think it would be worth the extra 20 bucks to get the sapphire pulse rx 5700, or should I stick with this one?
  21. I'm upgrading from an rx460 to a rx5700, and was wondering if anyone has any experience with this card. I've searched alot, but cant seem to find any reviews on it. Thanks!
