Apparently a lot of people don't use it or somehow hit it accidentally so they dislike it. I personally couldn't live without a Win key, I just use it too much.

My keyboard has two Windows keys, and I admit I can definitely live with them on. The main pull towards having a winkeyless setup is likely hitting it accidentally when not needed.
My secondary keyboard I've programmed so the left Windows key does not function, and instead I do Ctrl + Esc to access the Windows key.

Fun bit of trivia, most vintage keyboards like the IBM Model M omit the 'Windows' key, so that vintage icon has clearly carried over into the aesthetics of most modern exotic keyboards.

FezBoy reacted to Fasauceome in NVme M.2 more noise about it than performance.
Boot times were never advertised as a selling point for m.2, and any average Joe that told you you'd see a performance increase in regular desktop use was off the mark.

The only legitimate advantage to NVMe storage performance wise manifests itself with very large files, like photo and video editing. Any gamer spending extra on a fast SSD will not reap that benefit, and I always remind people who are buying a 970 Evo that the money can go towards better components elsewhere.

The cable free design is handy, and imo that's what SATA m.2 is all about. Cheapo WD blue and the like are great for value storage in the tiny form factor.

FezBoy reacted to Bombastinator in How to annoy hundreds of developers in all 50 states - Vermont bill would allow Emojis in license plates
There seems to be a misinterpretation here.  It’s not instead of numbers, it’s one emoji in addition to the regular numbers.  So an emoji instead to say, the state flower, or whatever the normal additional cost license plate options are.

trying to track down what happened it seems the quote source and the image source are different.  The image source has a description of the law which is even more explicit that the emoji will not be part of the license code, but it has the pic where the emojis replace the license code, whereas the copy source is less explicit but does not have the picture.

    My Thoughts:
Oh god, this is going to be another NULL, NO PLATE, NO TAG/NO TAGS, XXXXXXX, or NV situation all over again but for an entire state of vanity plate owners. This is sure to cause all sorts of weird issues with backend systems, OCR, and waste hundreds of man-hours attempting to get legacy ascii systems to recognize unicode emojis. On one hand, I fear for the developers involved, but on the other hand.... DO IT VERMONT, show these developers why you can't trust any input data at all!

Starting March 2020, Rocket League developer Psyonix will be dropping support for MacOS and Linux intending to only focus on development for Windows, per a recent announcement on their Steam Page.

so unless you want to play offline against bots or locally with friends, you're shit out of luck unless you move to windows.

But hey, at least they are offering refunds, right?
Well, yes, but actually no and this is where they are going to land themselves in very hot water

they are offering refunds for the BASE Game only, any microtransactions are not being refunded

The claim for the dropped support is that they are moving to DX11, the current compatibility with MacOS and Linux is relies on DX9.

They are saying you can try to run it on Linux through Proton or Wine and Mac through bootcamp
But since we've also seen anti-cheat software ban people for using Proton, i don't know how keen people will be to attempt it.

This is where we run into the catch 22 of Linux gaming. Developers don't want to support it because there's not enough players (Pysonix are claiming 0.3% of players are on linux) and Players wont move to Linux until more games are supported.

Personally i think if you're not going to support a platform any longer, and you're offering refunds. refund the entire package, to draw the line at the base game will not leave fans with a warm fuzzy feeling towards you.
