  1. is there anything else I can do to make it 1920x1080 at 144hz without buying a whole new monitor?
  2. thats the one I exactly bought, it is a active adapter. so could my plan work then??
  3. So I recently bought a 2070 without doing my research and my BenQ 144z monitor only has dvi-d dual link and hdmi and d-sub(whatever that is) and my 2070 has 3 display ports and 1 HDMI and I've tried the HDMI and it won't support over 60hz, so I read online that I need to buy a DVI-D dual link to display port adapter. I just got it and I plugged it in and it said "Wrong cable, please use the cable that came with the monitor" I tried all the other ports and it still doesn't work. So I had an idea, could I buy a DVI-D Single-Link cable and plug one of the Single-Link cable ends in the back of my monitor, then plug the other Single-Link DVI-D cable end into the dual link DVI-D to DISPLAYPORT adapter and make it support 144hz? cause I think my monitor cable that is DVI-D dual link and the adapter that is dual link DVI-D to display port is making it mess up cause its 2 dual links going into each other. Do you think that idea would work or no?
