I do apologize for the weak response to my thread. I got very entranced in getting the build fully completed. Usually, I take pictures at most of the steps. However, this was mainly before prefill, prefill, then coolant fill. This was definitely not easy, but, it was definitely fun. I made some mistakes like leaving the plastic on the CPU block (oops) and having to refill twice. Great learning experience though and I can now understand why this is such a difficult thing to do. The tubing is not perfect, but I like the way it is. Seeing the Vue coolant flow through the tubing is amazing. Temps are sitting around 30c for the CPU (OC'd to 4.9Ghz) and GPU is sitting at a chill 27c.

Gotta give a shout out to CableMod though. I love the easy to use and install LED hybrid strip that they make. You don't have to use it in tandem with your board and the remote works extremely well considering that the receiver in behind metal and cables. Colors are vibrant, the UV function can be turned on or off and gives a nice hue to all colors. For $30 or so, totally worth it.

Here is my build, I found that using pipe cleaners really helped visualize my bends, it's pictured in the log. Just put coolant in tonight!

Yeah, it wasn’t easy and I had to modify the case a bit to fit a radiator above the mobo and to fit the massive MSI 1080 ti.

Both the CPU and GPU run around the 60-70° range under load. I wish the mobo didn’t have the massive vrm heatsink, to be honest. It blocks about a third of the radiator.

You don't "just get some PC parts" and walk away. You have to prove that you can provide them more value via some means than the products they are sending and that you're trustworthy. You don't just email a supplier and say "I want free stuff and I promise I'll do a video on it" and call it a day. You have to have a solid following on whatever social media or video platform you're on (usually 10K+ followers) and have a history of reviews you can showcase them. They need to know that sending you a few thousand dollars worth of stuff will net them much more than that in sales or potential sales.

yeah for sure. The whole "H" series is a very well made product in my experience. I have moved my 700 around quite a bit and I dont at all feel like its cheaply made. Its worth the money whether it be the 500 or 700

I just recently did my very first hard line loop, I bought PrimoChill's PETG. One box of 6 30 inch runs, i had never bent tubing before and i still have one completely unused tube. They are cheap and if you take your time you will be surprised at how easy PETG is to work with.

    HI all,

So recently I build a new machine in a Black InWin 303 case with all 7 Thermaltake RGB fans.
Well my wife loved the look of the RGB and wanted me to redo her old case, NZXT Phantom 410.
So instead of spending another $100+ (Australian) on a new case, I changed cases with her.
She got the Black InWin 303 with RGB fans and I got our 4 year old NZXT Phantom 410.

I forgot to take a before photo so I have added a reference photo.
Even tho I do still like the shape of the 410, i think it looks dated. So I set to work changing that.
While putting all my new build in this case, i removed the 2 hard drive mounting modules. Have left
the upper drive module in for now it will be removed once I have purchased a AIO to go in the case.

Today I completed the first of the large mods, increasing the size of the side window. Even though it didnt
come out perfect when in good lighting it looks good enough you cant see the small mistakes I made.

Mods to come will be remove the optic drive module, and install a 360 AIO, havnt decided on if I want
to do a vertical mounted GPU or not yet. Will also add in som LED strips and RGB fans.
Also deciding on if I want to paint some of the outer accents red or white.

Well that's a rather stubborn approach. Personally I'd rather have whatever gives the best value, no point in sticking up for a soulless company.

    Hello everyone,

This is the start of my build log for my new custom water loop. I would like to think I am fairly knowledgeable at PC building. I have done 5 custom builds and truly love doing it. I have wanted to do a custom loop since day one and knew it just wasn't in the cards in my previous builds. Full time worker with a wife and a daughter, sometimes the PC building has to take a back seat!

My latest build I knew was eventually going to get a custom loop so I built it about a year ago with the intention of adding it later. Well I am at that time now and have been lurking around these forums for a long time and decided it was time to make an account and show my work for whoever wants to look! ill update the build as I progress, any suggestions are welcomed!!!

    Current Build as of now:

    AMD Ryzen 1600 @3.9ghz
    EVGA GTX 1080 SC
    16GB GSkill Trident Z
    MSI B350 Gaming Pro Carbon
    EVGA BQ850
    NZXT Kraken X62
    NZXT H700i

    Custom loop parts:

All my parts have arrived and i am going to tear everything down in a few days and start planning it out. I have never bent tubes before so it will be completely new for me but i am excited to take on the challenge. i am starting with a simple CPU only loop and have parts from Primo Chill and EKWB.

    EK 140 Pump/res combo
    EK Supremacy EVO RGB block
    EK SE360 Slim Rad
    EK Furious Vardar fans x3
    EK cryofuel acid green
    PrimoChill fittings/drain in UV green
    PrimoChill tubing

I really hope you never need it, you'll face a harsh truth if you do, seen enough stories about it.

You really should, i don't know, watch some youtube videos on the subject or something? a Noctua NH-DL15 will outperform all these AiO you mentioned in cooling performance for overclocking, you seem highly biased against air cooling.

I am cooling an i9 9900K with a modest air cooler that by 1/3 of the price performs like 280mm AiO's.

Just Buy what you want to use and get a little extra. you're not going to save hardly any money relative to the cost of the rest of the loop. And odds are you will not be happy with some of the bends no matter what and end up redoing them a few times after a couple months before you get it right. I've redone my loop 3-4 times and changed cases twice just to keep tinkering and improving.

Noice. I am also doing my first hardline loop (first and only other loop I've done is soft tubing) with an R7 2700X and Vega FE. Considering at stock the Vega FE hits it's 85C temp target pretty quickly it actually needs the waterblock.

yeah that's what I have noticed. those are really good numbers you had. This card has been a workhorse for me and I dont see a need to water cool it other than the aesthetic. Ill just wait until im ready to upgrade and do it then!

The EVGA SC cards are awesome. I had two in SLI (they're pulled from my rig and ready to be sold to a buddy once he gets the monies, now I have a Gaming X 1080 Ti), bottom card never broke 66C under full load, and the top card was exactly 10C hotter (only a single slot between them for air to get to the second card) at 76C max. In single card setups I never had them break 65-66C though. That's running at 2100MHz on the core and I forget what on the RAM too.
