  2. well how much do you want to spend
  3. i doubt the a BIOS update is going to solve BSOD, on install. Especially when he is using a B450 Board with a 2nd gen Ryzen. It should not be required. If he was on a B350 Board i could see that being an issue. But then he shouldn't even post.
  4. I once had an old build that did something simlar. I did manage to get windows installed. But i would have an issue where i would boot and it would post then crash. If i restarted it a few times eventually i would get in. My first instinct was bad Mobo. Wasn't the case, so i swapped the CPU and bam everything was good. It could be you just have a faulty part. maybe the CPU.
  5. sounds like your hard drive is the problem. do you have a different drive you can try?
  6. For your CPU cooler, this one works great and is not crazy expensive like a Noctua. DEEPCOOL-GAMMAXX-400
  7. if you are using a stock cooler for an 8 series i7. That chip is probably running hotter than your old i5. Its probably causing high ambient temps in your case. Thus your GPU is having to try harder to stay cool. if you set up a more aggressive fan curve that should solve your issue. You could also invest in a decent CPU cooler.
  8. I highly doubt a GTX 1060 is being bottlenecked by an I5-6700
  9. Sounds like your motherboard is the issue, If 2 cards are having identical issues. If windows is not detecting the card, then the slot may have issues. Are you seating the card correctly into your PCI-E slot?
  10. Do you have a resource monitor installed like MSI Afterburner? What are your thermals like? Also have you tried reinstalling your GPU Drivers?
  11. yeah I'd turn off freesync, it sounds like your monitor, is not playing well in the sandbox.
