    Its amazing on how looks can be deceiving, a friend of mine has a hp pavillon p7-1007c with a dual core phenom, he always treated it like shit just cuz it looked low end, he destroyed the ram sticks(honestly who does that?) and stripped it completely, i looked around the internet on some info and apparently you can install a six core AMD 1045t and 16 gigs of ddr3 ram... holy f**k...so he has had a sleeper(if you can consider it a sleeper) and he has never even known,so now we are in the process of getting parts for it, he offered me that pc a while back for free and i declined it and i regret doing that but man... never judge a pc by its case ?

    i don't have pictures of it right now but i have what i believe is an ATI Radeon 2400 XT or ATI Radeon HD 3450 (Dell OEM Units), i really can't tell the difference between the two, i will post a pic of it later

    I finally finished fully upgrading this noice Dell Precision T3400, now it has some pretty decent hardware,it didnt come with a power supply so a got one from a friend who was selling his(it was literally brand new), so far this is what it is packing 

     

    CPU:Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 @ 2.66GHz

    Ram Corsair 8GB DDR2 Ram @ 800 MHz

    Power Supply: EVGA N1 400 Watt power supply

    Storage: a mere 250 gb hard  drive for now

    GPU: EVGA GTX 950 (i was brand new never used, it is still under waranty)

     

    i also went ahead and bought the upgraded cooler for it and my main rig(Precision 390)

    Here's a pic of the insides, i took this pic before i got the GTX 950 for it(gpu in the bottom pic is a xfx 8600 gts), also a little fun fact on picture on the very top if this post, the CPU on the corner of the rig is a Xeon X5355, i just placed that there to make people think that is was the core 2 quad(sneek 100)

    This is my Nvidia Geforce 8600 GTS made by XFX, this is the first old graphics card that i bought, and its the one that has started my liking to collect old GPU's, when i got it i looked like if it was left sitting outside for a good while(hence the discoloration of the plastic and the bit of rust on the screws), but that hasn't stopped it, when i went ahead to test it on my test bench it was shorting something out but after i cleaned it thoroughly it worked, to this day it runs like a champ, and its overclockable

    Most modern GPU's wont reach full core clock until they are under load.(like a heavy game)

    I will try to resolver the pci power plug, but so far I don't have a fine tip for my soldering iron for incase i have to swap something small on the pcb so that will have to wait, as for the rest there is no visible buldgeing capacitors on the board, I have tried cleaning the pcb and the pci bar

    A gpu baked to a crisp? Now that sounds fun but in all seriousness I would have tried that if I had a mini oven, the reason why I haven't done it with my oven in the kitchen is because when you heat a gpu in a oven it releases fumes that will contaminate the oven and any food that is baked afterwards

    i removed the cooler from the card and i placed my finger on the GPU die (while being grounded with an esd bracelet or whatever you call them) and i cant feel any heat from the die or anywhere on the board, which is a bit strange
