    Man this situation is making me hate Musk fanboys, the way they plaster their god's face and company on the scams they make...

    @Levent
    I'm curious.. do you think that the manufacturer just put unnecessary parts on the board? Why would they do that? If it's on there, it's required for the PROPER functioning of the board. And running it without is a RISK.
    And I did say that he should take it into a repair shop if he lacks the tools or the knowledge to repair it himself. I only brought up Youtube to show that the lack of solder pad is not something that makes a repair impossible.

    5 seconds on Youtube will get you lots of results of how you can fix/get around a missing solder pad and still solder the components back on. It's still the best chance to make the board run properly and not risk further damage.

    1st thing: Do NOT plug that card back in. Every component is important on it so you can't randomly cut bits off. You run the very high risk of irreversably damaging other components on the board. if you try to run that thing.
    If you don't have the tools and the knowledge to solder it back on yourself, or don't know someone who does, take it into a computer repair shop, along with the little part that fell off and have them solder it back on.

    So it's been 20+ years since I last gamed as a serious hobby. Now that I'm older the  learning curve is steep on the latest technology and my patience and time is limited. I currently have a nice NZXT i700 case (red), 1TB storage hard drive, and gtx 1080 ( Zotoc ) gpu. I anticipate being a casual to moderately serious gamer playing mostly FPS games. I Stream alot of video content. Also the usual many open tabs of stock sites, music, etc etc.. I did do alittle oc'ing back in the day but I'm not much of techie these days. So I"m ISO a great to best CPU/mobo/memory setup that will be kick ass on the games but will be a minimum of tinkering and no issues streaming video etc.

    So can you guys chime in and help to end my migraine from researching and failing to come up with a solid combo....

    Cheers!

    HP, with all the obfuscation of the specs prior to delivery, managed to pull quite some good specs out of the hat.
    And as many said on youtube comments, cancelling the order for fishy stuff with the CC and phone number is a good thing.

    If you need to consider paying the ransom for your data it means you have no backups.
    And if you lack reading comprehension, I said the principle behind not paying is the same, not that losing my photos or the project data I was working on were equivalent.

    Not paying the ransom to get your data back is the same principle to not paying the ransom to get your husband or son back. Sure, if everyone does it the kidnappers will find it unprofitable in the long run, but are YOU ready to sacrifice your loved ones for the benefit of potential future victims? Yeah, I don't think so.
