  1. Thanks for that mate, I forgot to mention id done the Windows Help threads; I'll change that onto the forum post
  2. Hey, I've been through all the threads and I have tried everything that has been suggested to others when their PC is freezing. So the issue I am having is the computer totally freezing not able to move the mouse or enter task manager, I have to kill it at the case and restart. It's strange as it never crashes when the pc is being pushed in gaming/ CAD etc or even when any programs are open it only freezes when it's idling at the desktop. The PC is about 4 weeks old and it only started freezing about a week ago, its specs; Windows 10 Pro Ryzen 7 2700x x470 board 16gb 3000 RAM 650W EVGA Modular PSU Sapphire RX580 8gb - clocked at 1430. 1TB SSD Storage over 4 drives (2 m.2 nvme, 2 normal drive) 240mm AIO Cooler NZXT s320 case; intake is through the AIO and two more fans a 120 and a 140 for exhaust. Temps are all fine when tested on Aida. I've attached a photo showing that the CPU is not OC'ed and the temps at idle sits in the 25 - 30 degree range (if using Aida). Raises to 51.7 degrees in Aida 64 when stressed. The fan curve is set to 100% at 65 and I've never heard them spin up so I don't think its temp related, and it only freezes at idle so it can't be a temp issue? What I have tried; Ensured the BIOS is up to date - i also reverted all BIOS setting to defaults - not that i'd changed anything other than the RAM XMP profile. Updated all drivers. Changed the windows power mode from 'Ryzen Balanced' to the standard windows balanced setting and i tried high power mode too with no success. (I've heard the Ryzen power mode is causing a few people problems) I turned the XMP profile off the RAM to bring it down to standard speeds which didn't help so its back on now. Ensured that the all the power connectors inside the PC were plugged in, they were. (Although i'd have guessed that as the PC performs fine when being pushed this wasn't going to be my problem.) I've done the Windows Help threads I could find online (sorry forgot to add this before) Event Log just says 'Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0'. So yeah I'm stuck with an annoying little glitch and I've pretty much reached the end of the basic stuff I can do to fix it, any help would be appreciated!
  3. When I brought the case I thought it’d be a pain in the arse as its pretty small but I don’t have a lot of space to put the PC so I needed a small case. I read a fair bit about the Noctua NH-D14 but the coffee colour puts me off! Ive some typos on those temp numbers, I’ll change it! It sits around 70 degrees when playing games.
  4. Hey, I’ve just built my first PC, I used loads of your threads on here to answer every question I had but I can’t find the answer to this one so I hope someone can help me out! First the specs of the PC; AMD Ryzen 7 2700x Wraith Prism Cooler (stock RGB Ryzen cooler) 16gb 3000 RAM (Vengence) Gigabyte AORUS Ultra Gaming board X470 Chipset EVGA 650w modular PSU 8GB Sapphire RX580 Special Edition (the ‘special’ bit is that its blue lol!) 2 x 250GB m.2 NVME SSD’s 2 x 250GB SATA SSDs NZXT S340 Case Cooling Setup; 4 Corsair Silent fans; 2 intake on front behind dust filter and 1 at the rear and one up top for exhaust. All 120mm but I’m gonna buy some bigger ones as they fit. I’m really happy with the build of the PC just the temps aren’t that fantastic (although I’ve read a lot about the 2700x running hot) CPU temps low 30s at idle and 60 through to 80 when gaming/ being pushed without an overclock. I want to turn the dial up on the CPU so I think that better cooling is needed? So my question; I want to add a 240mm (280 if it’ll fit) AIO cooler to replace the stock CPU cooler; the only place this will fit on the case is at the front replacing the 2 fans already there. If i put the AIO there there is no more room for any intake fans on the case so the AIO fans will have to provide intake for the case as well as drawing air through the rad, does that work? While I’m here; any recommendations on which AIO to buy? Thanks guys!
