  1. I just realized I missed a very important point in the original post. It's a 1366x768 monitor... The notebook is still overpowered for the use I'll give it though
  2. I just got a desktop rig so I'm looking to switch my Inspiron 7567 for a lighter notebook, and I found a great deal on a 14 incher. I'll mostly use it for college and work presentations (I work as a full stack web dev finishing my CS course). But the bulk of my work is and will continue to be done in desktop PC's. The thing is, I'm worried 14 inches will still not be big enough even for the light work I'll be doing in it... What are your experiences? Any info is welcome Cheers ^-^
  3. Yeah features check out and I'm not going to OC outside of RAM (which I checked and will be fine), my worry was that the components are going to be too close to each other and mess with the airflow... But I guess I'm just scared out of ignorance Thanks for replying!
  4. Hey! I just recieved my new B450M-A mobo and realized it's actually micro ATX... by the time the rest of my rig arrives it's going to be too late to return it (if I can even refund it lol) Does anyone know if it's going to be a problem in terms of temperatures or otherwise? I'm getting: - 3-fan 1070ti - ryzen 7 2700x - 2x8gb 3000MHz ram - 1tb m.2 ssd Thanks for reading!
  5. I just bought a CORSAIR Vengeance CMR16GX4M2D3000C16 pair of memories on sale but I still dont have a motherboard. I've been doing a bit of research but I'm still a noob The motherboards my (much) preferred retailer offers are these: Mother ASUS PRIME B350M-A AM4 HDMI M.2 USB 3.0 Mother ASUS PRIME B450M-A AM4 HDMI M.2 USB 3.1 Aura Sync Mother ASUS PRIME B450-PLUS AM4 HDMI M.2 Aura Sync USB Type-C Mother ASUS ROG STRIX X370-F GAMING ATX AM4 And also this one that goes out of my budget: Mother ASUS TUF X470-PLUS GAMING ATX AM4 The thing is, I'm reading any of these boards would rquire OC in order to use my memory at 3000MHz so I dont know which one to choose. I dont plan on overclocking my cpu at all so I would like to just get the cheapest one possible that wont cause trouble Please enlighten me EDIT: CPU is a ryzen 7 2700x and GPU is a GIGABYTE 1070ti with 3 fans
  6. i have 50/8. It's stable and streams great at720p/60, should be good enough afaik. I'll look into 2700's and see if I can get a good deal. I was about to buy a 2700x for $307 I'll look into it, I chose this one because it's from a retailer that will give me a lower value invoice to help me avoid customs taxes lol (I'm going to get the memory from him too) I don't think I'll get customer service from Argentina anyway so I have to rely on luck and the ZOTAC one seems to be the most reliable of the two, right?
  7. YES! thanks a ton! I'll look into one of those PSU's what would be the bottleneck? how could I get the performance I want?
  8. Hey there forum! I'm trying to build a streaming PC (for Fortnite) that will at least run the game at 150+ fps using these settings while streaming at 900p60. I'll be buying all parts except from the motherboard and case from Mexican retailers (I'm from Argentina and my mexican brother is coming to visit in january) Budget is $1100, max I can do is $1200 Here's what I'm planning to buy: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700x GPU: GTX 1070 ti (since 1080's are overpriced and hard to find nowadays) RAM: 2x8Gb DDR4 3200MHz PSU: Corsair CX550 Motheboard: B450 / X470 Storage: Whatever 500gb ssd I can get my hands on (+ my old HDD) Multiple questions here: 1. Will this be powerful enough? (I've read 1070 ti's are easily overclockable) 2. Will the B450 let me overclock my GPU without issues? If so, what are some recommended models? 3. Is the PSU powerful enough? 4. Would any corsair ram with those specs work well? Or what brand/model should I look for? For the GPU, these seem to be the best deals i could find: ZOTAC AMP! Edition for $435 total: https://www.newegg.com/global/mx-en/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500430&ignorebbr=1 GIGABYTE GV-N107TGAMING-8GD for $435 as well: (revies seem to be worse for this one) https://www.newegg.com/global/mx-en/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814932013&Description=gtx 1070 ti&cm_re=gtx_1070_ti-_-14-932-013-_-Product Would anyone recommend either of these cards? Or any other models I should look into? The zotac one seems like a good deal tbh All opinions and advice are welcome, thanks to anyone reading!
  9. EDIT: I just realized I'm trying to go way off the rails on this thread, so I'll just make a new one about the build I plan to buy in Mexico. Thanks to everyone for your help!
  10. I didn't know you could do this! Thank you!
  11. It's because the PSU from my current rig will do the job just fine. I will definitely post here again before my flight! thank you so much! Yeah reading all this I'm coming to the conclusion that I should probably buy the mobo here as well... The rest of the parts I'm not worried about, i'll just wrap them in a ton of bubble wrap and clothes. Although for reference a x470 is around 235usd in Argentina
  12. I will get a 144hz monitor for sure, but I'm too scared it will break during the flight if I buy it in LA
  13. So that means i got lucky with the timing! My budget is 1100usd, 1200 absolute max without peripherals, PSU or case (I'll have to get them here in Argentina) All I need is a machine that can run Fortnite at 150+ fps (using the stardard pro settings) while streaming. I haven't been able to find realiable sources yet, do you reckon a gtx 1070ti will suffice for this? Yeah I won't travel with boxes, just the parts. I have friends who have done this before without any issues (also, I'm actually coming back to Argentina from Mexico so it'll be fine)
  14. I will be going on vacation to LA the first 10 days of january and since everything is almost half the price (at least on Amazon) as here in Argentina I plan on buying as many parts as possible for my new system. Should i get everything from Amazon and New Egg and have it all delivered to my hotel or how should I go about it? Also is it a good time to buy parts right after new year's eve? Just in case I'm looking to buy this: Ryzen 7 2700x GTX 1080 16Gb ddr4 3200mhz Any good value SSD B450 motherboard (maybe a x470 if I get a good deal, I don't plan on overclocking anyway) Any help is greatly appreciated!
