Looking to buy a new laptop as my old one up and died. My budget is around 300-400$(USD), somewhere in that ball park. Specs im looking for: RAM:- 4GB DDR4 HDD:-500(min) would prefer more SSD:250GB if possible Screen:- 13 inches or more (Not something like the ideapad 330) Battery: something that can last me at least 5-6 hours Keyboard:No preferences anything goes. Preferably lightweight cause ill need to carry it around Uni alot.

I am a freshman student doing my major in CS(learning C language). Needed some help learning the ropes. Id appreciate any tips on how to become a better coder and how to be more efficient and learn as much as i can. Currently using Ubuntu but coding overall has been a hassle as most applications wont run code.I tried using Atom, Sublime text and visual basics but only found DevC++ to work(Through the wine application and running code is still a hassle). So if anyone knows how i can get my code to run from the above mentioned apps or if any app can run it natively it would be greatly appreciated. Additionally ubuntu feels a bit laggy and am currently considering switching back to windows. can someone tell me the cons and pros of Ubuntu vs Windows. All in all, if someone knows where i can get CS course material for free to learn from it would be appreciated, any additional tips or suggestions are also welcome. Please and Thank you.
