  1. Recently I got myself a new laptop but I'd still like to use my old SSD from my old laptop as like an external portable drive whenever possible. I've purchased a SATA to USB Adapter so that I can use it. My only concern is I want to format it but I don't wanna click on the wrong settings and mess things up. Any help with this?
  2. No but I am using a Y Audio Splitter to convert my laptop's combo jack to separate mic and aux(is that the correct term?) input, forgot to mention it in the post because it wasn't a problem before, could it be a problem now?
  3. When I get into a call in Discord, my friends can hear themselves, so I then turn on Echo Cancellation. Their voice no longer echo but when I watch a video with not even that loud volume, my mic picks it up and feeds into the output. Info: Laptop: Huawei Matebook D 15 OS: Windows 11 I also have Equalizer APO installed with rnnoise installed to remove background noise I did not have this problem on my previous setup, which is a 10 years old laptop Win10, so yeah And I'm highly positive that it's not rnnoise causing the problem as it as already doing the same thing with every audio enhancement thingy installed or turn on. Edit: Forgot to mention my laptop has a mic and aux combo jack and I'm using a Y Audio Splitter to plug in my earphones and mic separately, didn't mention it at the first place because it wasn't a problem on my old setup
  4. Hmm. I guess there's just no way around it since this is what I did and it doesn't work in fullscreen Well yeah I know but a lot of the time I sit back on my chair and the only thing reachable is my mouse since the esc key is way too far
  5. Haha mate I really wish it would work like that cause I've been craving for a LTT Store water bottle for like 4 years now but I don't really know how that would work shipping to Malaysia and how exactly I have to pay for it. Hopefully one day I can get it tho
  6. Recently got myself a new laptop with Win11, previously I had a Win10 8 years old laptop, so quite a big upgrade and I thought the OS wouldn't be that much different Back on my Win10 laptop whenever I'm done watching a YouTube video, I could just flick my mouse to the bottom right corner to exit fullscreen. if I were to do the same thing on my new laptop it would just scroll down by a bit, mind you I'm using the same browser on both. Even after changing the setting in about:config (layout.scrollbar.side) to the value 3, it still stays on the right side in fullscreen YouTube video. Any helpers? Edit: I meant to say that during fullscreen the scrollbar move back to the right side so flicking to bottom right corner would just click the downward arrow instead of exiting fullscreen
  7. Wow, thanks all for the feedback. It really made me rethink my decision, I guess EE would be the better and safer option
  8. I currently have two offer letter from two different universities, one is in Computer Technology while the other is in Electrical Engineering, the one in EE was convinced by my dad to choose even though that uni has a course in Comp. Sci, while the one is CT was all me. I want to choose the one in CT but I have accepted neither offer as I wait to discuss them with my dad. My dad asked me why would I want to pursue Comp. Sci, and told him I'm into computers even though he already knew that, he then told me but what about the job opportunity in the future, I told him that there should be plenty considering that we are constantly evolving and advancing towards tech, he wasn't so sure about that and said that he'd be worried for me, it was at that point that I stop arguing with my dad and just choose the Electrical Engineering course to make him happy. One thing to consider is we live in a South East Asia, so it's pretty much a third-world country here (Except for SG, they're cool), which is why I don't even blame my dad for not letting me pursue Comp. Sci as he didn't think any company would wanna hire a dude with degree in Comp. Sci The uni that I chosed CT in is technically a much easier place to get to compare to the one I got in EE, while also being pretty much the center of the country, yk where all the tourist come to, so its a pretty dense place, while the one in EE is what friend would described as "deserted" Please help me come up with something that would be able to convince my dad to let me pursue Comp. Sci
  9. Ah, thanks for the explanation, I guess I'll keep that one then just in case. And thank you for the solution, it seem to have worked.
  10. My dad recently pass down his laptop for me to use for school and one of the things that triggered me quite a bit is that the drives are separated into 2 volumes even though its literally just one physical drive. Here is what it looks like in Disk Management: I would like to combine C: and D: into one under C: since it is literally just in the same physical drive and I'm not quite sure how Btw what actually are the other different "Healthy" volumes? Never really get to know them And why do manufacturers keep on doing this? I've seen other laptops and pre-builts do the exact same thing (Apologies if posted in wrong subforums, wasn't sure which one would fit better, hopefully this)
  11. Thanks for the solution, the TV box can finally see my laptop, but when I select my laptop all it says is "search result is empty" and "access fail", I assume I'm gonna have to create a new thread on a different subforum for this issue?
  12. It's gonna sound stupid but I can't really remove the second router. There's many reasons for it, including us not having a long enough Ethernet cable to my laptop and my other brother not being able to connect to the main router Wi-Fi due to range, I know this isn't the best solution but this is what we have and probably won't be changing anytime soon cause of other problem so we're just gonna have to settle with it. Is there any other way to do it without removing the second router? Maybe like port forwarding or something?
  13. To better visualize things, I did a quick sketch in ms paint: Right now the problem is that the TV box can't see my laptop but it can see my brother's PC in the network, what settings or configurations do I have to change so I can stream files from my laptop to the TV box?
  14. Ah damn, that's unforunate. Thanks for the help
  15. The problem is still there even when nothing is plugged in Well I already replug it and even swapped ends and it's still like this
  16. I don't think its the cable, is the monitor non-fixable? Or is there a DIY way to do it?
  17. The last time I used it, it was fine but it was quite a long time ago. It has been sitting right next to my table at the floor for a year and 3 months. Today I plug it back in to daily it and it turned out like this. Is it possible it's because of the varying temperature? Is there a way to fix this? (Below is a picture of the monitor back in 21/12/21)
  18. Yep! It's this one. Thank you so much!
  19. It's an old movie where a couple has around what was it like 10-12 kids? At first they live in the middle of nowhere and then move into a big house in a city. If I'm not mistaken one of the older sister move out with her boyfriend and when the boyfriend come to visit their new place his car got absolute harassed (dk if thats the right word but cant think of anything else) by all the kids Thanks in advance
  20. Linus showed something to the camera where he incorrectly wrote some stuff on something, can't remember much, and he then said something along the line of "either i have a case of dyslexia/dyslexis, or..." Have been thinking about it for a long time, any help would be greatly appreciated!
  21. The Ethernet port on my laptop is pretty loose for whatever reason so it disconnects quite a lot, and I hide my taskbar so I can't just look at my taskbar whenever the internet drops, so is there a way to make it so that whenever my Ethernet drops a smol notification sound is played just for indication?
  22. PROBLEM SOLVED: I just go pirate another higher version of Vegas Pro, specifically Vegas Pro 19, I can now sleep in peace
