here is a good complete system with fans.

i would recommend waiting to next month, grab a r5 3600 and order a bootkit from AMD.

You can check out this page to see where similar systems are performing

That page does not take resolution of monitor into account so if you are playing at 1080p you of course would have a better experience with that system than at 1440p or 4k

Guillaume_L got a reaction from TopHatProductions115 in Laptop Suggestion Needed...
I wouldn't recommend Lenovo anyway, i had 3 different models in home (low-end, basic yoga, and a high-end gaming one) and every time it works perfectly for two or tree years and then it starts to slow down horribly or even stops working, but maybe i am just really unlucky.

Guillaume_L reacted to Mira Yurizaki in i have, i want to play, but can i play?
Also keep in mind system requirements aren't really that strict. The requirements are based on what the developer is willing to support hardware-wise. For example, Bayonetta on the PC "requires" either the GeForce GTX 570 or AMD Radeon HD 6950. Keep in mind this is a port of a PS3/Xbox 360 game; the required GPUs will laugh at this game. It's just that this is the oldest hardware that the developer is willing to support.

As long as the minimum hardware requirements are similar to the performance of what you have, barring specific software/hardware requirements, you can usually run the game.

It's best to do some research to see if anyone's played the game on similar specs as yours rather than go with what the developer says.

Guillaume_L reacted to BuckGup in do you also think that programmed malfunctions in computers does exist?
Software is so advanced a majority of people don't really know what's fully going on so things sometimes break.

Guillaume_L reacted to Mira Yurizaki in do you also think that programmed malfunctions in computers does exist?
They do exist. As a specific example, various games would break in ways if it detected they were a pirated copy. Examples include:
Earthbound would ramp up the difficulty up to flat out crashing and erasing your saves once you got to a certain point. Spyro 3 subtly removed key in-game items so you couldn't continue Operation Flashpoint would progressively make the game unplayable Serious Sam 3: BFE included an invincible pink man-scorpion that followed you everywhere Batman Arkham Asylum would make Batman's glide ability not work Game Developer Simulator would cause people to pirate your company's games to the point where your company goes bankrupt This was actually a separate version of the game that was deliberately distributed by the developers over torrent sites. If you're asking if hardware itself can be programmed to malfunction, a lot of sensitive devices that use cryptography will "break" if it detects certain parameters.

I think it's pretty clear some items are designed to not work after a period of time and backdoors are installed in some programs when requested by .. Certain governmental authorities. That much is obvious.
The ink running out is partially because printers feel the need to clean themselves when not having printed in a couple seconds (more like after it sat still for a week). Cleaning happens with ink.. thus you will almost never be able to get the 'promised' amount of pages.

you mean like stuff thats made to break? sure there are probably some things designed like that, ink for printers "runs out" way before its out for one

Guillaume_L reacted to Rau in how well (or bad) would it run SC + questions
Remember that much of the performance issues are server side at the moment, so irrespective if your spec it'll hit a limit that's not within your control if the server you are on is under heavy load. It's not going to be like this forever but has been for quite some time.

16GB or slightly less is fine, OS + game loading for most people peaks around 11GB and that's in fairly unoptimised conditions,.

    1. I use an 1800x and RX Vega 64, my CPU is usually around 30% and the GPU is around 90%+

    2. Should be fine, I have 32GB running. Now that OCS (Object Container Streaming) is working i average around 5GB of RAM Dedicated with up to 16GB used at max.

    3. I am gonna guess mid-40s to high 50s depending on resolution and settings. I get an Average of 53fp according to this page. (I play at 3440x1440p, ultra setting)

    4. Its always better to have more CPU if you can afford it IMO

One very important thing is that if you do get it, make sure you run it on your SSD not HDD.

Well that is customer support for you. Shipping is kinda a cluster this time of year. It might not come until after new years if the shipping company is really busy. It's happened to me before and I thought my package would never come but it ended up showing up at my door on January 3. A whole 2 and a half weeks late.

Guillaume_L reacted to Shrepto in Cooler Master SK630 on Dell's Website???
My concern is that there has been no official release statement by Cooler Master for this product, which is pretty heavily hyped up, and it is only available on Dell.  I'd hate to order it, not get it until it is announced, and have to deal with Dell during that process.

If you dont need WiFi then dont worry about it. However, some boards have built in WiFi out of the box. I think Intel is adding WiFi support to CPU's in the future if I read it correctly so..... I really wouldn't worry about it until you need it. Because chances are you might have it built in, and if not its very easy to buy a WiFi card.

Guillaume_L reacted to Adreyu in really a resource monster?
Your PC will be more than fine to play star citizen. currently when you are playing by yourself in an underpopulated area it actually runs pretty well, because we have OCS (Object Container Streaming) on client side. We are supposed to get server side OCS in the next big December update which should further increase performance in resource heavy zones. The game actually runs pretty well, its just the servers that are struggling to keep up currently. Keep in mind though, you are buying current gen hardware for a game who's soft release date is probably in or past 2021.

Also SSD is a must for this game.

well... Star Citizen is heavy, even on that hardware because it's a unoptimised pre-alpha. but it will do well when it gets in béta

I would opt for the NZXT case. It has great cooling for its closed front face, there is actually airflow going in through the bottom grooves. It has GREAT cable management since it has a lot of routing options. The case just looks simple and sleek to me, that's always a plus.

edit: Oh and the h500 also has a tempered glass side windows instead of the Acrylic, a definite bonus in my eyes.

The NZXT case is good, but the cougar isn't bad as a case. I'd say you really get what you pay for with these two. (Which is not always true in retail)
