If you don't transfer a lot of data or huge files in and out of your storage drive often, HDD is enough IMO.
If you want to buy another SSD, just make it your game/software drive.

But yep, If I have to choose between the SSD and the RAM. I'd say I will go for better ram.
Unless I really can no longer stomach the lack of space for my games.

To be honest in your place I would upgrade the GPU before upgrading the RAM. Your RAM is slow, but it won't make that much of a difference (5-10% at best), and 16GB is enough for games unless you do some heavy multitasking, like running VMs while you're gaming. But the GPU is the most likely bottleneck for most games on your setup.

Now this of course is irrelevant if you don't have enough space to install your games, so if you don't have enough storage or you want to play some games that require an SSD (like Starfield), definitely get that first. But performance wise I think you'll benefit most from a GPU upgrade.

    TL;DR:
    1. Storage if you don't have enough
    2. GPU
    3. RAM

For viewing large sequential files such as movies and shows, a HDD is a good option.
For editing video files, an SSD is a good option
Many games require an SSD for a good experience due to large textures that need to be loaded on the go.

Basically unless its a media server, an SSD is the best option.

Also, you are quite right, you would see a performance bump by going to 3600Mhz memory, you can buy a 32GB kit of 3600Mhz CL18 for around £65/$70 these days.

It's funny that on there 970 Evo 1TB is 160JD, while 980 Pro 1 TB or Kingston Fury 1TB is 59JD.

If you need drive space then you need drive space. Who am i to debate that.

I'm not gonna start forcing you to bear with it. 😆

Especially if you feel okay with your PC current perf

As for 980 pro,  it should be good yeah.
But just in case, check the firmware after you bought it, IIRC there was a problem with some SKU that were fixed by firmware update

I need to get home and look at some stuffs first using not my phone. Since the Kingston Fury Renegade is priced the same

Either the 980 Pro or the Kingston Fury should do well.
Pick whichever you know have good warranty service in your country.

    my bad false alarm
probably this was left since I added the thermal paste it wouldnt make sense other wise
Thanks all, the temperature rising probably coincidence with the heat where I live increasing I gotta get myself a new cpu air cooler

probably during implementing it some got in the cover without me noticing

It is indeed thermal grizzy product

the pieces not sure what they are

the temperature increase for the cpu probably caused by ambient temperature + stock fan

this place is awesome thanks for always informative and fast replies everyone

Looks like liquid metal like Conductonaut - https://www.thermal-grizzly.com/produkte/25-conductonaut - gallium and indium mix.
But howcome it would leak - no idea.

If its mercury stop touching it!

Anyway that looks like thermal paste/a thermal pad. Actually sorta looks like a graphene pad.

    Pc still works fine?

It's not mercury since it would be liquid and make beads, plus there is no way you'd find any in a consumer device nowadays. Seems just like thermal paste/pad residue.
What you could find as malleable/melty metal is gallium if the machine used "liquid metal" as TIM, not dangerous at all and doesn't look like a machine that would though.

is your house in the middle of the arctic?

If that was actually mercury, it would not be solid and surely wouldn't smear.

What makes you think the paste is fake? The cooler should already come with decent paste.

I used Hyper 212 LED turbo edition on my 5600x back then.
Took off 1 of the fans due to noise when it has 2 fans installed, I forgot my temp back then, but considering nothing made me go "wtf" back then, even when playing something like Halo Infinite, it must've been fine.

I used NT-H1 paste, Arctic MX-4 is on par with it.
    Airflow case

My ambient is lower than yours though.
My guess is your fake MX-4 (I assume it's MX-4, since it's the one with most fake ones) messed things up.

About that xigmatek top-down cooler you linked, I advise against it.
At least with the Hyper 212 if the fan broke you can just grab a 120mm PWM fan from whichever brand and slap it on the cooler.
Do check your case cooler height clearance first.

If by CityCenter you mean : citycenter.jo
DeepCool Gammax 400 xt is a cheaper option if they can restock soon. Should be on par with the Hyper 212
Or you can go with more expensive DeepCool AK620, overkill, but on par with the usual king Noctua NH-D15
    Video :
If it's about standard air cooler, don't be too paranoid to buy from other place.
As long the fan is working fine, contact plate is not mangled, and the mounting kits you need are included. They'll work.

I can squeeze off 235w PPT with PBO.. 105w is at a static 3700 I think.

Fans do nothing for ambient temperature, they just make it feel a bit cooler. Trust me, 10C difference in ambient temp will make a world of difference. My 5900X was (currently down due to board issues) maintaining reasonable temps with a case that has reduced airflow over others, and I noticed those temps did spike a bit if ambient temp got much above 25C. Of course, my 5900X is a 105W TDP chip that most have stated actually generates more like 200W TDP, and my RTX3060ti seems to be a furnace all its own as well.

That cooler is considered pretty good, but the price is a little high, usually you can get similar performance with a Be Quiet! Pure Rock 2 or an Arctic Freezer 34/35 for cheaper, depends on your local prices and what options you have available. But the Hyper 212 is not a bad choice, if you like how it looks and it's in your budget, go for it.

With the front now open, you can probably close the side panel. Right now most of the air coming in through the front is probably going straight out the side. What are your temps like now?

Hyper 212 is a good tower cooler.

It wouldn't hurt to point the fat at the case until you get the new cooler installed
