it's not. ever since the beginning they showed what they had but people fantasized and missunderstood what they had so people screamed fake. they never said it was perfect and they said they would look for ways to fix what they were missing (ex animations). It's by no means mainstream market ready but it is progressing steadily. Personally i am looking forward to the day that this approaches a beta stage so to speak.

Not just that, AMD also supports things like 10 bit colour and HDR. I doubt Intel will. And of course Intel chips are useless for anything gaming, unlike AMD APU's. In reality Intel's iGPU's are really just useful for super basic desktop image or some sort of low end compute, like streaming.

Hazorazor reacted to Sakkura in Intel adds Iris Pro Skylake-H - 128Mb of eDRAM, 30% graphical improvement
Intel is just barely beating AMD on GPU performance, despite a crushing advantage in process node. That means AMD is doing much better than Intel on the actual architecture side (and/or driver optimization). Once AMD gets a modern process node again, expect their APUs to easily outperform Intel again.

AluminiumTech, you should get some book on programming. Programming is a lengthy process to do little things. It's not: "EnableDarkTheme()", and poof, magic whatever you are working on is now in dark theme, complete with AI system to design the dark theme for you. Things takes time. And Windows 10 was released 1 year ago, not 3 years ago. Universal Apps, part of Windows 10, was not there in the past. Back in Windows 8 days, a developers had to do a special app for Windows 8 desktop/laptop, and one for Windows Phone 8.

Hazorazor reacted to Notional in Rumor: Nvidia’s Pascal Architecture Is In Trouble With Asynchronous Compute
So what you're saying is that you can't continue to switch between graphics vendors, because you are now invested in a Gsync monitor?
Now you know what vendor lock in is, and why it's anti competitive. What you are experiencing is called high switching costs, where it's not just a case of buying a new card, but having to replace other things as well, in this case a gsync monitor.

I've warned about this in here for over a year.

For the consumers sake, I hope NVidia drops the ball, trips and smashes their face into the ground trying to catch it. We need proper competition, and I truly hope AMD will gain huge market share this year and next. With DX12 and Vulkan, which AMD has been so active in shaping, I think that might very well be possible. With things like async compute, and potent hardware, that is not completely dependable on driver optimizations, we already know AMD cards perform for a long time. Hopefully NVidia users seeking to upgrade their 700 series cards are fed up with the planned obsolescence, making their premium prices hardware, crap after just a year or two.

Hazorazor reacted to Fir35t0rm in Australia's FTTN NBN fails to deliver advertised net speeds
Well I thought that this nightmare could not get any worse but I was wrong....very wrong. Here's a snippet from the news story:
However, the Labor Party has received 60 complaints from early adopters of the Governments's preferred Fibre to the Node NBN rollout model that they were receiving a poor service and they would prefer to have their original broadband back, one example below:
As an Australian, I'm am quite furious to see not only the Fibre to the Node still uses the ageing and fragile copper wire but the fact that people are complaining that their download speeds can degrade to much worse than if they were still using ADSL2 during peak traffic while being a complete blow-out of an 'infrastructure upgrade'.  Looks like at this rate our broadband network is going to be left behind in measures unseen before and giving the amount that has been blown out, it would be at least years before we would have some kind of chance to meet standards with the rest of the world.

Still really gutted that the Libs decided to go for too many options and relying on the copper network. I understand the need to do FTTB in apartments and stuff but its no use doing FTTN everywhere. Thankfully I am in one of two suburbs in the city I live in that will be receiving FTTP. Gets installed on 22nd Feb and will be getting 100/40 with an "unlimited" data plan (~1TB due to fair use policy). Can't wait till someone cleans the policy change made under the Libs. My previous town before the previous election was ready to have fiber installed the following month but the Libs got in and changed the plan to FTTN. Delaying the install in my previous town by 2-3 years and providing a worse solution.

This is what i have at the moment. It is currently Australia's highest end offering (cable internet) for the mainstream, its kinda pathetic when you compare it to the rest of you guys. What annoys me is that Liberals new plan of FTTN provides a 10th of the speed of full FTTP at a third of the cost. Its a pathetic cost saving measure that will cost us more in the long run. If Linus saw this proposition and he was the leader, he would have this low end video card rant all over again. The cost savings does not justify the performance.

On the bright side, i start uni this year.... Cant wait for the ridiculous Uni internet speeds.
