its totally possible to optimize code and get performance increases that are significant, I myself have made changes to projects that result in the system performing the same number of tasks in simply 10% of the time, its totally possible. for example you sit waiting on a resource that is not ready or don't have a timeout specified to try again later. this is the nature of development. However I will wait for an unbiased / 3rd party review of the update to judge if there is any actual improvement
