  1. Changing a light switch isn't that hard, it's just 2 wires connected to a switch, just gotta turn off the breaker before you do. As for cost, the smart switches don't look that much more expensive. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but if you have smart light bulbs and someone turns off the lights by using the light switch, you then aren't able to turn them back on with the app cause they have no power... right? If this is the case, then getting smart switches seems like the better idea as you can turn the light on and off via the switch/app/smart assistant/whatever without causing any issues.
