  1. Oops, sorry! False alarm. It was just a monitor I was using. But everything was up to date.
  2. Hi, I just built a new system. I was trying to install the graphics driver, but the only thing it does is break the system. I have a Ryzen 3 3200G using intergrated graphics. I installed both versions of Radeon Adrenaline 2020, both which failed. The screen flickers as normal during the installation, but torwards the end, the screen goes black and never comes back on. The system stays powered on, but the only way I can resurrect it is by going into Windows Recovery on a USB stick, and using the command prompt to remove the driver. Older versions of the software don't even attempt to install any display driver. The files of the software have a display driver, but running the executable for that individual driver brings up an "incompatible" error. Thanks to anyone who helps! 3. I am planning to build a PC with a Wraith Stealth AMD stock cooler. My memory is going to be the Team T-Force Delta RGB, which is reportedly "tall", by memory standards. "Standard height for memory modules is around 30-33mm tall, the total height of the Delta RGB is 49mm at its tallest point." https://www.vortez.net/articles_pages/team_t_force_delta_rgb_review,3.html The Wraith Stealth is 54mm tall, and "supports tall memory", but I just wanted to check. I don't have the memory on me yet, so I just wanted to check and make sure this would work. I am a bit new around this sort of thing, so please tell me if I am missing anything! Thanks to anyone who helps!
  4. I don't really know what you mean by that, but the "Purchased" parts don't really count towards the $500 I want to spend. Pretty much anything that I need to buy, because the only reason I'm using the parts that I already have on hand is to keep costs down and put more money towards other (more important) parts. My goal is to create a basic "starting line", and then be able to add more parts in if the need be so. (For example, 8GB RAM in dual-channel, with 4 DIMM slots, so I can add more if I need to.)
  5. Hello People Better Than Me, I am currently thinking of upgrading from my current system, as it is getting too slow to do pretty much anything. I am on a pretty tight budget at $500 (dollars). I tried my best to put together a decent list, and below I linked what I came up with. Could anyone please notify me if there are any noticeable problems or anything I could fix to make this system better? Thank you in advance for anyone who helps out! https://pcpartpicker.com/user/MylesAndMore/saved/DRwtgs Keep in mind a lot of this is made up of things I already have (marked "Purchased") to make things cheaper. I plan to do some light gaming (ex. Rocket League), video editing, and maybe some streaming.
  6. Thanks to all of you for helping me out! My only question is - since I am a content creator/streamer, will the 4GB version be able to handle some video editing or streaming e-sports like Rocket League?
  7. On ASUS website: Storage 1 x M.2 Socket 3, , with M Key, type 2242/2260/2280 storage devices support (SATA mode & X4 PCIE mode)*1 1 x M.2 Socket 3, , with M Key, type 2242/2260/2280 storage devices support (PCIE mode only)*2 I also checked the manual, and everything seems to point to the bottom-right M.2 slot being SATA compatable. I'm still not completely sure, so if someone wants to check the motherboard manual, I'm all for it.
  8. Hello to you people, I am building a budget PC, with things such as a Ryzen 5 1600, ASUS Prime B450-Plus mobo, and 16GB DDR4 3000MHz RAM. I have partially decided on my graphics card; the Radeon RX 570. I plan to run mostly e-sports games and video edit at 1080P, but might expand that in the future. I want to know, what card should I go with? The 4GB model, or 8GB? And also, does clock speed really matter? I linked two RX 570s below, and my PCPartPicker list. Thanks in advance for any help I get! 9. I agree. The build looks fine to me (although I don't have much experience). Don't worry about it! It's really easy (I know because I just completed my first build with the 2200G). Just make sure to read between the lines in your manual (especially your motherboard manual) online beforehand to check if your parts are compatible. Best of luck with your build!
  10. Hey everybody, I just built a computer for a friend, and he told me that his computer wouldn't wake up from automatic sleep mode. To elaborate, meaning that if he clicked on the "Sleep" button, waking it up by pressing a key on the keyboard or wiggling the mouse would wake it up. The PC is set to sleep after 10 minutes, and when it does that, trying to wake it using the mouse or keyboard fails to have any response. To get back in, he has to turn off the PC with the power button, and turn it back on. Does anyone know what may be causing this? I found similar forums related to this, but they were always traced to defective parts. I think it might be a BIOS or Windows permission setting, but I'm not really sure. I also found a section in the manual about "USB Device Wakeup", and deemed it unrelated because the keyboard/mouse would wake it up when it didn't go to sleep automatically. I linked the page anyway, though. Can someone tell me what might be wrong, or point me in the right direction? Thanks! AMD Ryzen 3 2200G ASUS Prime A320M-K 16GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM Windows 10 64-Bit
  11. From what I've seen, dual-channel is better than single channel, but quad channel usually drops performance, but is still better than single channel.
  12. Hi everyone, I am building a budget PC. My motherboard is the ASUS Prime A320 M-K. I am also using the Ryzen 3 2200G. When I was looking at the Amazon reviews page, I found that people using the 2200G had to update their BIOS with another AM4 CPU, which I don't have. Even ASUS's CPU support page confirmed that! I found that I could order a "boot kit" from AMD to boot my system, so I could apply the update. But when my motherboard came, had a "AMD Ryzen Desktop 2000 Ready" sticker on it. The box on ASUS's website and Amazon's don't have that. So what should I trust? I included some pictures so that you can see the difference. Can anyone help me out here?
  13. Thanks for the assurance! I made the decision to scrap the graphics card (for now) to keep the budget down, because I looked at some benchmarks, and my tasks would (in theory) work just fine with the Vega graphics on the 2200G, while I wait to see what happens, and if I should upgrade. Since that left me with more budget, I switched to 16GB of RAM, because that is my biggest problem with my current system (only having 8GB), and everybody knows Ryzens LOVE their RAM. I also upped the PSU to 500W, even though this current build sips power at under 100W under full load (estimate), but that decision is mostly for upgrade purposes. I decided to switch to an M.2 SSD (500GB) instead of that SSHD, because I think it will be better off for me in the future, and also currently. Keep this in mind: This is just a starter build, and my main 2 points are budget (I know, totally rich, right?), and future in mind. I want to have to upgrade as least as possible, and I think this build will do just that. Also keep in mind the specs of my current system: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU M 620 @ 2.67GHz 128GB SanDisk SSD 8GB RAM ??? Thanks for the help! 14. Sorry I didn't mention this! I already have a 128GB SSD for my boot drive already loaded with Windows 10. You do have a good point for switching to 8GB of RAM, since that leaves more budget for upgrading to the 4GB 1050 Ti version. I also switched the case to a similar-vibing case, but for less $$$ (I didn't realize how expensive the other case was!).
