That's £40 cheaper than CEX second hand.  You can also swap out strange brigade for Resident Evil 2 if you wish too (which is what I did).

It's no Sapphire - which I would have loved, but its not worth £90 more.

4 Degrees delta between Old Stock and New Kyronaut. Ambient measures within 0.5 degrees (shaded room, insulated house)

Tested with Small FFTs on Non-overlooked CPU, 2 passes - Delta would be higher OCed but I didn’t get baselines for that.

I’ll be testing again on a brand new Corsair AIO when Ryzen 3 drops.

(On mobile - sorry about wrong forum - can a mod drop this into air cooling please?)

TLDW: OC yourself. Anything with decent Samsung B-die is going to be great for memory overclocking. 3200MHz CL14 is common and not hard to get.

I believe we've seen all of the ASUS Offerings that will be available for release and the Prime Pro is the only one - and I will be ordering on Pre-order date July 1st, so that doesn't leave me much wiggle to do my research etc.

Are you sure that Asus wont have white "VII" boards that use the X570 chipset?
Companies don't always show all of the options when unveiling the product, and sometimes they release different variants at a slight delay.

My plan for my next build is to put fan inputs on any filtered surface I can find.   That way all the unfiltered gaps become exhaust and so dust should only ingress via filters.

If you can find a spot to mount the fan on another filter - do that!  (Prioritise bottom to top for inputs so it pulls cooler ambient air)

Looking specifically at the Carbide, you have 2 fans included, so one can sit up front with your H100i on the filtered front.  Good start, but the PSU shroud means there will unlikely be any bottom side fan mounts or filters.  This leaves the fan near the rear IO or the top.   I'd be tempted to try mounting the rear IO one as input too, but I'd like to see a little mesh or filter between the fan and the grill if I did that.   Then, all hot air should exhaust up as long as your machine isn't under a table.   I say 'try' because if the fans begin to fight each other because of airflow, then you may find reversing the rear IO fan is necessary.

CPU: not really, unless I can compare prices

Mobo: Those without VRM heatsinks are outright kicked, only good for using quad core CPUs at stock. For overclocking the high end CPUs, this time around Asus sucks because they give you cheap hardware but sell them at a high price. Gigabyte sucks on AM4 boards (unless you get the flagship) due to cheap hardware (though at least the price is somewhat cheap), but Z390 Aorus boards rock. MSI is the best choice on AM4, but Z390 boards arent as good as Gigabyte Aorus ones. Asrock is the safe bet on both sides, not the best but not the worst either.

There is a "bad pick" list in my head so I directly fault things right away, say Skylake-X CPU that's not the flagship or near the flagship, the RTX 2070, all the 28nm AM4 CPUs etc.

mITX machines can be quite powerful as well, as long as you're not looking to do the top overclocks, don't need a bunch of storage and have enough budget to buy those more expensive compact hardware. It's like buying a laptop instead of a desktop, if you want the smaller space, you just go for it and chew on the negatives.
