  1. If you are running prime95 and topping out at 80C, that is not bad! It could be better. But while gaming, I highly doubt you will get 100% utilization on all cores so your temperatures will be much lower.
  2. Is there any headway being made with this issue?
  3. Well, I have to go to work. Hopefully someone else can help you a bit and solve your problem. Good luck.
  4. He had very high CPU utilization on the 2nd run. Most likely some background activity may have dragged that score down a bit.
  5. Ok, something weird is happening. Your CPU dove down to 2.25ghz with that latest run. How are your CPU temperatures?
  6. It is performing as if it is running at 3.0 ghz. I downclocked mine to 3.0ghz and received a similar score on the CPU. If you look at your benchmark result it says " Base clock 3.4 GHz, turbo 3 GHz (avg) ". That last part where it says 3 GHz (avg) is an indicator telling me that it is running at 3.0 ghz. Just like when I downclocked my system. Base clock 3.2 GHz, turbo 2.95 GHz (avg)
  7. Also I just noticed that your CPU is only running at 3.0ghz. You might have to do some tweaking in the BIOS to get it up to stock 3.4ghz. Still, you should be performing way better than 40-60fps even with your computer not being quite up to speed. Your videocard is also running slow but not THAT slow. It is performing about the same as my 1070. I am hoping the chipset drivers rectify that.
  8. Just start with the system and chipset drivers.

  10. Looks like the CPU isn't running up to snuff at all. Is this a new build? Did you install the motherboard drivers?
  11. Do this little quick benchmark. Post results if you are able. https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Software
  12. With the NZXT H500, I would stick with an AIO. You might be hard pressed to fit a custom loop inside that case. Not impossible though. I did the Kraken x62 in my stepson's H500 and it fits like a glove. Nice, neat and it works pretty good. If you want a custom loop, I recommend a bigger case that can accommodate a larger radiator and reservoir. Also only if you want to get into higher and more extreme overclocking.
  13. I personally use the Corsair 115i Pro and my stepson uses the Kraken x62. I am on a R7 2700 and he is on a R7 1700. Both of these work pretty well. Easy install as well. I idle at about 30c and about 62- 65C under full load at 3.8ghz.
  14. I needed to update my BIOS for my 2700 in my B350 as well. Something to check into.
  15. I am not sure what else you have tried yet. Clear CMOS. There is a jumper just next to the heatsink that says Gigabyte on it. Take a screwdriver and short out those two pins for a couple of seconds. That clears the CMOS. Try using only one stick of RAM and try each slot. Then do it again with the second stick of RAM. Post a high res picture of your motherboard installation, you had a partial picture above, I just want to see it all in one pic. Is a graphics card installed? If so, remove it. Just use the on board Vega graphics for now. If you have a multimeter, try measuring the 5v and 12v from one of your molex (4-pin power connector from the the PSU) connectors if you have one available. Kinda running out of ideas. If all that fails, time to RMA the board.
  16. And did you make sure you plugged the CPU fan into a CPU fan header and not a chassis fan header? Sorry if some of these questions sound trivial, but sometimes it is something very simple.
  17. This might be a silly question. Is your heatsink/fan secured properly? Almost sounds like an overheating issue if you have to wait 5 minutes for the computer to respond again.
  18. What exactly happens when you power on? Will it cycle on and off indefinitely? Or will it stay off after the MoBo lights up for a couple of seconds? Also have you tried clearing CMOS?
  19. It is a pretty good deal IMO. GTX1070 is still a very nice card. You would be hard pressed to find another one at $200.
  20. Overclocking....Fans....Hard drives...etc... it all adds up.
  21. Can we get a complete run down on your system? If you have a decent quality 550w power supply, it should be plenty though.
  22. My Christmas present upgrades. Thanks to my wife who completely surprised me. R5 1600 -- R7 2700 GTX 1060 3gb -- GTX 1070 I still have some tweaking to do but currently very satisfied with the upgrades. For the light gaming I do, this is a bit of an overkill though.
  23. It was a very nice surprise my wife gave me along with a new 34" monitor. Totally unexpected. I was running the 1600 and it was doing just fine. Now she gave me an okay to upgrade the video card a bit. So it was a good Xmas for me. Yeah, I have some tweaking to do. Most likely replace the MoBo though. It isn't exactly top notch.
  24. Just an update. I figured out that the BIOS wasn't saving my vCore voltages. No idea why. I could before I flashed my BIOS from F10 to the current F22. So that would be my only guess. I could increase the voltage with Ryzen Master though. I was able to find a stable 4ghz @ 1.4v I couldn't get stable at 4.1 @ 1.4v though. After stress testing at 4ghz, temps rose up to 80c. A bit high for my liking so I won't bother trying 1.5V. So for now, until I try a new motherboard, I will stay at 3.8ghz where my temps hang around 63c under full load. I only do some light gaming, astro image processing and an occasional video anyway. I don't need a super computer. Having the extra 4 threads will be helpful. On a side note, the wife gave me the thumbs up to get a GTX1070. So that will be ordered in the next few days.
