  1. Hey Guys, I am undecided between which monitor to get. I am looking for a 1080p 24" 144hz Led/lcd 1ms monitor that can be any panel type. I found this site which filtered monitors based on specs required but am finding it hard to decide. I cannot get an Asus VG248QE as it EOL in my country or something. Can order the Asus monitor from Newegg or AMAZON but had some rough experience with items from Amazon in some aspects and if something is wrong it is a pain to return as I would have to pay for shipping etc. So basically looking for answers before I spend all my money I got from selling my xbox one x LOL. Max budget is $450 NZD. Here are my options: https://pricespy.co.nz/category.php?k=s328396365&catId=393&sort=price&direction=asc https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/products/monitor/#r=192001080&T=1&D=144000,240000&qq=1&sort=price&page=1
  2. Hi, I am looking for a 1080p 144hz monitor and was recommended these. My budget is $450NZD. https://www.newegg.com/global/nz-en/Product/Product.aspx?reviews=all&Item=N82E16824236313 https://www.computerlounge.co.nz/components/componentview.asp?partid=31552 https://www.computerlounge.co.nz/components/componentview.asp?partid=28506 Thanks for your feedback. The acer monitor is 240hz but I don't know how good it is. Cheers.
  3. Hi Guys, My rig is running a 1070ti, 2700x, 16gb 3200mhz to give a quick run down. I am looking for a monitor but unable to decide between (24") 1080p 60z or 1080p 144hz. I think my gpu will be able to hit 144hz constantly but I have heard if you get a monitor w/o freesync/gsync you can see screen tearing when frames drop. I can buy 2 1080p 60hz for the price of one 144hz monitor but still not sure if I will use two monitors. I use a hdmi cable that I know is caped to 60hz so wondering if there even would be a point in getting 144hz monitor if I will not be able to utilize it. also what factor does 1ms vs 5ms play? I play all types of games AAA+ titles, rpg etc. My max budget is $400NZD. Any tips are appreciated
  4. Just online sites that host videos, I can select 1080p but it just stutters after loading a bit and continues to jitter and load? They don't throttle videos but they do throttle speed after x gbs used that I am aware of.
  5. Hi Guys, This is my rig: https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/list/fgvrnH and for some reason I am unable to stream videos at 1080p ? Mbps Up: 44 Mbps Downs: 15. What could be the issue ? Cheers.
  6. I see. Cheers for your feedback man.
  7. Cheers mate will take that onboard. I guess I will just game on my tv for now and see how it is or my shitty monitor I have laying around then get some mulla to buy a monitor during sale near the end of the year.
  8. Sweet, might have to consider buying the ASUS VG248QE 24" Monitor but will have to see my budget or wait til boxing day hahahah and work to get some funds until then probably be gaming on the 4k tv in the lounge with high input lag and medium hz.
  9. True, I can get 50-60hz monitors for cheap but they are not 1080p but if they are they are quite cheap. under $100.
  10. 1140p are out of budget for a not economically funded person like myself.
  11. Damn Spotty you everywhere hahahaa. I will be playing h1z1, pubg, cg:go, rainbow six siege, gta v, just shooters mainly. 12. Hey Guys, I have a question is 1080p 144hz really worth it If My rig will not hit 144fps? I am going to be using a 1070ti. I don't think I will be able to push 144fps at 1080p ultra. Instead wouldn't a 60hz monitor be better? or is it that 144hz just offers better smoothes and playability? Cheers.
  13. Yeah that's what I meant I check in NZD but factoring in shipping it usally ends up the same.
  14. Yeah, I should of built my rig in the last two years when I was planning to but listening to some non experts I know irl cost me dearly lol.
  15. Yeah, crazy amount of things going on. Factoring in the 15%GST is a pain, used to get stuff cheaper but now its sometimes more expensive to buy stuff online and ship it over or ends up being the same as NZ retailers.
  16. It dependx on taxes and fees, it sometimes makes stuff more expensive but I will have a look. Any tips from buying directly from amazon instead of third party sellers? Do I just click amazon.com at the end on the left hand side and tada amazon is selling it to me ?
  17. Hhahaha true I see your point. I think I will be better to just get a 250gb ssd and 1tb hdd. As far as ram is concerned you have a valid point. I can get cl 14 g.skill flare x 3200hz for $340 inlcuding shipping from new egg though saving $50 haha
  18. Cheers for that, just a few questions. Should I buy a 1tb ssd instead for $309? & isn't 3200mhz ram cl14 better than cl16 3200mhz?
  19. Yeah tell me about it. It sucks becuase I was going to buy a evga gtx 1080ti ftw 3 but they EOL and no one stocks it in my country and I am unable to find one in my currency for the performance I am going to use it at.
  20. I have no bought it yet, was asking the forums like crazy lol, they said I was basically seeking attention. But I can get a 1070 for around $630 in my currency but then I run the risk of having VRM issues and performance wise apparently the 1070ti can be auto clocked through evga software for the same performance as a stock 1080 so that's good right? or should I just buy the 1070 FTW for $630 and save $180?
  21. In my country the 2070 is like $1000 - 1,100. There are no gtx 1080's & and if there were I would be scared of them having VRM issues and I am basically getting the gtx 1070ti for the price of which a 1070 costs in my country so I think it's alright, no ?
  22. I need to flash the bios. True about windows. I really like the s340 elite cases
  23. Hey Guys, This is my final and first build, any thoughts on improvements? please let me know, cheers. I can get a 1tb ssd for 309 but wondering if its a good idea to have OS and games on the same thing if it corrupts of screws up. 24. Hey Guys, So I have come up with what my build is going to be without having to worry about VRM heaing issues with the 1070 & 1080 ftw series. Could you guys recommend a monitor I should buy or 2 ? That this rig could handle I know 144hz is the go to but would 144hz be good at 1080p? or should I get a 1440p 144hz ? even though I will ideally be gaming at 60FPS? any recommendations are welcomed. Looking at $500NZD for a single monitor or if I can squueze 2 that would be great.
