Because it's an old card. Try looking for used ones, those should be cheap. If you really want to buy it brand new you should just get an RTX 2070 instead.

I just upgraded my friends' PC with my old hardware, but it won't POST. After pressing the power button the fans turn off for around a second before shutting off. The fans turn back on for a second by themselves after a couple of seconds and it keeps doing this until I pull off the power cable. His old setup works fine, and the new one worked without issues for years on my PC. The monitor gets no signal at any point. The monitor and everything in the build has been tested before and they work. I've tried replugging all the cables, no help there either. The computer had an i5 2500, 16GB of RAM, a GTX 970 and a 600W corsair 80+ gold power supply. I gave him my old i7 4770 and a b85 motherboard. It can't be due to a lack of power because I've run that i7 for years with only a 450W PSU.

1440p vs 1080p gaming with GTX 1070 at 60 fps
Lord Cluttermonkey replied to bazingaa95's topic in Displays
It should run fine. Not every game will run at max settings but you shouldn't have too much of a problem if you're willing to turn the games down to high. You can easily go by with less antialiasing on a higher resolution monitor but I still wouldn't turn it off. 4x looks fine most of the time. If you have a store with a good return policy I'd say just test a 1440p monitor and if games don't run well enough for you, return it and get a 1080p one. -
It's your CPU, four cores isn't enough for Battlefield V. Even older quad cores struggle with it. I'd say get a Ryzen, works well for me at 1440p with a GTX 1080 as well.

That's how capitalism works, companies exist to make money and they therefore do what makes them the most money. They're hardly on suicide watch, they're still very profitable. Just because their products don't really cater to you anymore doesn't mean the company is suddenly unsuccesful.

which resolution is human eye limitation ??
Lord Cluttermonkey replied to sohail14's topic in Displays
It's impossible to distinguish individual pixels on a 16x16 screen if you look far away enough. And you can still see the pixels in an 8K screen if your eyes are close enough. Your eyes don't work in pixels there isn't a maximum resolution -
So my friend just bought an RTX 2070 without realizing it didn't have a DVI port, and his monitor only supports DVI (it's one of those 144hz screens from the era when HDMI was not yet fast enough) Are there any adapters that can do 1080p144? All I can find support 1080p60

Why do you need to underclock? Is your current PSU not powerful enough?

Valve discontinues production of Steam Link
Lord Cluttermonkey replied to AlTech's topic in Tech News
The link only had 1080p support, it makes sense to discontinue outdated tech. Unfortunately I don't think they'll be doing a 4k link any time soon -
You can look at the local prices on something like amazon.co.uk I wouldn't buy on ebay, very few of those ship to the UK and those that do cost half their price in shipping alone.

You have to choose one or the other. You might find a freesync monitor but those don't work on nvidia cards. And even IPS on a 300£ budget is impossible if you want 1440p 144hz+
-
Those don't exist. Best you can get is one of those 1440p 165hz monitors, and even those are +$700. Not to mention the computer needed to run games on that

If you like Battlefield, go for it. Except for the few minor-ish bugs it's just a better version of the previous titles in every regard. It's a lot more fun than 1 or 4.
-
Well then I must really be doing something wrong because I can't get those frames on a GTX 1080 and a roughly equivalent i7
-
Yeah, like G2A?

You have to remember all these benchmarks and performance tests are done with top of the line CPUs. OP might have a CPU bottleneck slowing it down
