From a business perspective, it sounds like most of the complicated international taxes would be a fixed cost, like an additional accountant or tax expert, whose cost would be similar if you did $1,000 in merch sales versus $10 million.

From that perspective, at some point it would make sense to bite the bullet and hire someone to handle the complicated taxes.

Since the goal seems to be continuous scaling of the merchandise business, at some point shipping costs and delivery times would become a major issue.

Hard to measure the revenue/sale gains of offering faster and cheaper international shipping , even harder to speculate without knowing any of the numbers, but the way LTT store is trending, I would suspect that eventually LMG creator warehouse will store and ship from different countries.

I think the idea/plan of opening creator warehouse to other content creators merchandise would accelerate this, since it is a very nice to have "feature".

Um no, Windows has automatic zero touch enrollment/onboarding as well. I wouldn't make such comments on something you don't know about 😉 You can do Windows management with just Azure AD and Intune only. Registry? What? Nobody messes around with that in Windows Management land unless a garbage app forces you to, Windows Defender is either managed via GPO or Intune so no reason to list it at all, logging support case via website or phone with vendor is no harder than with Apple so no net benefit.

Apple you need Mac OS Server which includes; Open Directory, Profile Manager, Correctly configured Profile Manager Push settings at the network and firewall, ideally a publicly trusted certificate chain.

I can make Apple's equivalent implementation of management look just as complicated if I want to, ultimately neither are and it doesn't matter.

If you want to talk benefits of Apple ecosystem and management then list things like common management framework across Mac devices, phones and tablets and how Apple actually offers these devices themselves. You don't need a Windows management framework setup AND an Apple/Android management framework setup you just need Apple's if you only use Apple devices. This is by far the biggest win.

JAMF has nothing to do with Apple at all, it's 3rd party, and a great deal many more exist on the Windows side including first party options from Microsoft i.e. SCCM.

Wow I’m late to the party.  I think the only things missing from that bag are really just a HDMI, Display port and a USB A to USB A cable.
It’d be cool to see an updated version of this video though.

Sony said the same thing about the PS3 and it's cell processor. It was mostly useless bullshit, I'm calling it as a parallel to that situation: I don't buy it it's a fucking monitor with head tracking and a few other cheap tricks, nothing "cutting edge"

1 - Again, remember who's the one that can run Oculus: People with a GTX 970 or higher. Those people usually already have their own headphone (actually almost everyone should already have a headphone somewhere, high-end one or something coming out of their phone purchase), already own a controller (and may very well be a XBOX or XBOX One controller, or even better, a XBOX One Elite controller). And a freaking remote? Why? The controller is not enough to navigate the menu? If I need to keep both a remote and a controller with me all the time to use an Oculus, it's a stupid design. How am I suppose to keep a tiny remote along with a controller around and switching between them when I cant even see outside? Do I have to take off the headset everytime to look for them? Oculus is already not a "full package that the purchaser can enjoy out of the box". Leaving those unnecessary stuff out would be much better IMO, since people are more likely than not to already own all those thing, and at better quality to boot. Also since if you want to talk about the headphone included in the Oculus, that thing dont look detachable. Meaning by including it in they officially denied all other solution the customer could use (maybe except the in-ear one). Why? Also that thing is on-ears headphone, not over the ears (to clarify, my understanding is that on-ear are those sit on top of your ear without cover it completely like over the ear), and those things suck. I own some headphone like that back in the day and they are absolutely the worst for blocking outside noise because they dont cover your ear, and also due to that their sound isnt quite as good as other over the ear or in ear head phone either. Why am I being forced to use that again?
2- Xbox One controller is around 60$ if I remember correctly, so yeah, I agree that leaving that out wouldnt decrease the price too much. But it will decrease the price nonetheless. Again, most people with that kind of setup already own one if not multiple controller, why making them paying for 1 more they dont need?

3- I have nothing against your point with this one. I totally agree that included free games is nice, and it wouldnt contribute that much to the price anyway. Around 40-60$ at best IMO.
All in all, I still think they could have reduce the price by around 100-150$ if they remove stuff like controller, remote and headphone, and actually let the user have the option to choose their own. It would make the Oculus more accessible, and wont affect the immersive-ness of the Oculus in anyway (if anything by removing that headphone and replace it with one of my own, I think it would be much more immersive)

    "Comes with controller"

Yeah, cause that totally increases the value of the bundle by hundreds, a Xbone controller you guys got for probably pennies on the dollar and completely ignore the fact that most people probably have their own controllers already.

Jesus, just sell the Rift by itself; no audio, controller, remote, etc. crap.

because a developper doesn't make a game for how many ppl own a 1440p 144hz GSYNC monitor, or how many ppl own a 980Ti, because no developper would make software for 100 thousand prospect, that's why it's annoying, this tech will take ages to take off this way, and devs wont start rushing to it untill they get couple dozen million units sold.
how long do you think that would take with close to 800€ price tag in europe

few things they would have been better off doing.
1- no headphones, ppl usualy have their own and better quality, then they wouldn't need the remote, money saved on cost.
2- no body like VR with Xbox controller, and if they need it they can buy it, or buy oculus touch, saved money on pre-order, and benefited from accesory sale.
3- no free games, ppl who need them will buy them, just add a demo of something, money saved on pre-order.
with these simple things they could have set the pre-order around 400, and still make money on accessory

you shouldn't compare the price of a device with the price of a peripheral. not to mention a lot of people get a phone on contract not upfront. this is very expensive for a supposed consumer product.

You make it sound like it is very difficult to build a hackintosh, although if you have an LGA1150/1155 motherboard from Gigabyte it is almost easier than installing Windows. Also almost any other LGA1150/1155 can be hackintoshed fairly easy.

Also graphics compatibility? flashing? special rev.? firmware problems?
    BULLSHIT!

You don't even have to install ANY drivers (unlike with Windows) with MOST modern graphics cards

    GPU support changing frequently?
Yeah, more and more GPUs are supported natively ...

    ------------------------------

I really don't get it. Why don't make a hackintosh guide the easy way (LGA 1150, Multibeast, etc.) which probably interest much more people? Why a X79 board?

I have heard you mention the Tonymacx86 method before in discussion about hackintosh. Why didn't you go with that one over this one? Its a lot easier to configure.
Great video by the way, you guys have been teasing it for like a year and its finally nice to see it
Also, I think you should do the iSwitched to OSx

the reason for this fee is to keep the public service free of politics

I agree that this is a stupid thing to go after Corel over but infringement is just that.
If Corel did a perfect copy then they are in the wrong and maybe they should pay royalty for it or work something out. If Corel made a slight change then no more issues.

Negative, Corel has been around for a long time, almost as long as MS Word.

This latest version does look quite similar so MS does have a right to complain. I don't know what Corel was thinking, they have the next best Word editor to MS in fact Corel's out did MS Office for a while there, though it was a while ago.

Okay, this program is ridiculous, it may as well be Microsoft Office with Corel "Whatever" written at the top instead of Word or Excel. Every single one of the icons is exactly the same, the layout is the same, it looks completely identical to Microsoft Office. I'm surprised that they didn't get sued over the design of the entire program, never mind a silly little zoom slider.
