  1. (RESOLVED) I just built my first PC and have noticed some audio issues which I can't seem to resolve Both the front case audio jacks and the rear MOBO audio jacks are effected but my monitor's built in speaker that is driven through the HDMI connection to the graphics card is perfectly fine. The audio through the jacks either doesn't work at all or it is really quiet with weird distortions, echoes, and missing tracks, For instance, when listening to a song the instrumental track can be heard ok but the vocals are completely inaudible or distorted to the point that you can't make them out I've tried reinstalling drivers and restarted numerous times and even got drivers straight from realtek, NOTHING IS WORKING The issue is now resolved, thank you for your help!
  2. when built the system will have 1 stick of 8GB 3000mhz Corsair vengeance but the price has gone down so much, so I'm just going to add another Identical stick in a few months to take it up to 16GB and more importantly get that bandwidth boost that comes with dual channel ?
  3. I will soon be building my first gaming PC with a Ryzen 5 2600 and GTX 1060 3GB so I was wondering, is 3 GB VRAM enough? I don't really plan to play any games that are like extremely demanding and I'm not going to be going over 1080p since that's the max resolution of my monitor this will be my first time properly gaming on a PC though so I have no idea of how far I'm going to jump down the rabbit hole and play more games that may or may not be more demanding on VRAM, so I really don't know, what do you guys think? either way I don't really have an extra £70 lying around to buy the 6GB version and I've already gone a little over budget
  4. I just did a windows defender scan on the 2 USB drives, and nothing came back as malicious although, how accurate is windows defender? I'm worried about these drives because I plan to build a mid end Gaming PC soon that is going to cost me quite a lot, and these drives are going to be my go to thing for transferring my Data on to the new PC I don't want to kill the thing after just paying $600 in parts for it
  5. it was a windows popup just like when you transfer files to like an external drive that shows the loading bar and transfer speed I wouldn't be stupid enough to think that a popup on the internet was legit
  6. it should be noted that I only did a system restore 3 days ago! because of random crashes although in the time since the restore I plugged in 2 USB sticks which could contain the virus I guess?
  7. so I just came back to my PC after a 30 min lunch break and the screen was black, I tried to press keys and wiggle the mouse but it was taking forever. so, frustrated I held in the power button and restarted the PC, it took some time booting up but finally I was in the desktop, then without me doing anything a small window appeared on the desktop saying **DELETING PROGRAMS** it looked completely legit like the any other windows file transfer loading bar, however understandably I was quick to close it, then 2 CMD windows opened with "system32" written in them what is going on here?! am I being hacked?!
  8. although I listed the price in USD, I will be buying in GBP (British pounds)
  9. what is the best motherboard I can get for under $70 specifications -must be compatible with AMD Ryzen 5 2600 -must be able to handle ram speeds at 3000mhz with xmp - preferably have more than 1 case fan header - must look decent and not ugly thanks : D
  10. haha.. thanks : D so I'll just plug it in the other case header then is that working all fine for you?
  11. The CPU you have mentioned is the king of the best value CPU's out now, its got 6 cores and they are all clocked well at stock honestly go with this bad boi and you'll have no issues! as for the board GIGABYTE's B450M DS3H seems good value oh and um make sure to go with DDR4 memory! good luck!
  12. I'm building a pc that has 3 case fans, 2 in the front 1 in the back for positive pressure to combat dust however... dun dun dunnnn... my motherboard only has one case fan header (2 counting the CPU header) so for the last hour I've been doing some research on different ways to run the fans 1. splitter cables, I don't think this will work for me since I think the cables will be too short and a splitter can only run 2 fans, I have 3 (also a cable management nightmare) 2. direct power from the PSU via molex/sata ... yea not happening... I don't like the sound of a Jet engine in my room 3. a cheap fan hub..... sounds like a decent solution most fan hubs online say to plug the pwm cable in the CPU header on the motherboard and then put a sata in the side of the thing for power, but this would mean I would have to mount the hub close to the motherboard since the CPU cooler would have to plug into the hub. This is something I don't want to do (and again it would be a cable management nightmare) so can I run this thing on the other case fan header? the hub I plan to use is attached below and are there any other things I should know about this kinda thing? and am I talking complete nonsense here? is there another way? thanks -
