    Dehumidifiers are common in the UK where I live. We get humid winters and suffer from damp houses and mold if we don't run them. That said my dehumidifier is basic-budget and doesn't have a hose. It also makes a grotesque noise.
     
    I expect americans use far fewer dehumidifers since their homes seem to come with AC as standard, which dehumidifies the air as well as cools it.

    As long as its DDR4 and made by a respectable manufacturer it should work. I can tell you from experience all DDR4 ram from corsair, crucial, hyperx, kingston and g.skill all work. With your current problem, yes they will work, its the exact same ram stick just 2x8 instead of 4x8.
