  1. Why the MSI over the Asus? Just wondering. The specs are just about the same but i would be saving about 50+ going with the Asus
  2. Which i5 would you recommend? The list price for the mobo is about 140$ on newegg. Why go amd over intel? i like amd but i have spent quite a bit of time in research and a lot of people recommend intel with hyper threading for 3D rendering. I know its a bit overkill for gaming but I am trying to make it future proof so my friend wont really have to do much later down the road.
  3. Hey Everyone, I am going to build a gaming/CAD computer for a friend and I have come up with the parts and was wondering if you could give me any advice on my build list. If I need any improvement or switch something out with something else. My friend is looking to get more into 3D modeling and wants to have a pc to play any game and use 3D modeling programs like 3DS Max. He was trying to get this build as close to 1,000 as possible. I am still not sure if I should go with the i7-4770k or the i7-3770k. Any suggestions as to which would be better for this type of pc? It doesn’t have to be from those too if you know something better for around the same price. Here is the parts I selected: 1. NZXT Source 210 Elite Black $49.99 2. Corsair Air Series SP120 (CO-9050014-WW) 120mm PWM High Performance Edition High Static Pressure Fan (2) (Twin Packs) $67.98 3. Asus Z87-A Socket LGA 1150 ATX Intel Motherboard $94.99 4. Intel Core i7 4770K 3.5GHz Socket LGA 1150 Boxed Processor $249.99 5. Corsair Hydro Series H55 Quiet Edition Liquid CPU Cooler $54.99 6. EVGA 02G-P4-3765-KR GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support Dual Superclocked w/ EVGA ACX Cooler Video Card $259.99 7. G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR $84.99 8. PNY XLR8 PRO SSD9SC240GCDA-RB 2.5" 240GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) $139.99 9. Corsair CX Series CX600M 600 Watt ATX Modular Power Supply $64.99 Total Price: 1107.42 (He is ok with this price) I will be getting the MOBO, CPU, PSU and the H55 from Microcenter and the rest of the parts from Newegg. These are the best deals that I found and best build that i could think of with the little knowledge i have about PC Building.
