  1. Hello,

I'm using my fathers old computer and it has some weird freezes. I've swapped the ram around and the freezes keep happening.

It's not a normal freeze where everything freezes instantly, this is how I'm noticing that the freeze is on the way.

First, I'm unable to scroll and click on things, websites pages and I'm also unable to open the windows search (win key).

Then after some time, videos freeze but the sound keeps playing and after this, it just freezes for like a second or sometimes longer and then everything continues...

    HW:
    FX8320
GTX660(new installed gpu, 99.99% not it's fault, because happen with different GPUs.)

    4x4GB RAM DDR3

    Sandisk Ultra II 960GB

    Gigabyte 970A DS3P

I did a full FTT prime95 test and no errors there (for about 9h, over night)

  2. Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a new audio setup for a neat music experience :) (not "GaMiNg").

The Asus Xonar Essence STX PCIe DAC is pretty cheap, 150bucks where some HiFi USB DACs are easily double that price.
I was wondering if it makes a big difference to get a HiFi USB DAC for my future Sennheiser HD800S.

I was looking at following DACs:

    1. Asus Xonar Essence STX PCIe - 155Euros
    2. MassDrop THX AAA 789 - 400Euros
    3. RME ADI-2 DAC - 900Euros

I don't care that much about the price difference, because I'm not looking into buying DACs like I buy my Graphics Cards ?

On paper... the RME ADI-2 DAC is the endgame in my opinion unless we're looking into spending 10k+, but we ain't looking into such prices.

I'm using now a Nuforce uDAC5 with AKG K612 Pro, I was using a Focusrite Scarlett Solo before.

    My current plan is:
RME ADI-2 DAC + Sennheiser HD800S or THX AAA 789, people are going nuts over this massdrop DAC, but RME ADI-2 DAC won 19+ awards since it's release, it has sound correction for the future, if you get older and/or have some hearing issues, for example when you hear more on your left ear than you do on your right ear, etc.

I know it's not cheap but you buy it once and you're done forever till some new Quantum AI DAC things get released ?

  3. Hello,

I want to learn how phase change vapor coolers work but I can't find any info about it.

All I know is that the liquid vaporizes (turns into gas) inside the vapor chamber that sits on the CPU, then the gas goes thru the tube into a condenser that turns the gas into a liquid and the whole process starts again.

But I don't know exactly how it works, will a bigger condenser make the CPU run cooler or a bigger compressor. Is this a compressor or a pump? If it works with a liquid... why is it using a compressor and not a pump etc.

  4. Hello everyone,

    I want a gaming computer that will power a 1080p @ 240hz monitor.

I prefer AA over textures, effects and would rather run 8x MSAA than high textures or effects.

What I've found is: (german prices https://geizhals.de )

    250€ - i5 9600K

    210€ - 2x8Gb G.Skill Trident Z 4266 CL19

    775€ - Gigabyte Aorus RTX 2080

190€ - Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro ( Gamers Nexus says it's good for CPU OC - phases over phases)

    165€ - BeQuiet! Dark Power Pro 11 750Watt

    (not sure about this)

    160€ - Corsair Hydro H150i Pro

    330€ - Cooler Master Cosmos C700M

    190€ - Cooler Master MasterCase H500M

My issue is that I'm not sure if I want an AIO or a custom water cooling.

I seriously don't car if it's 200euros more or less. I wont touch this computer for next 3-5 years

(only cleaning and maintaining the water cooling or something)

    GAMES:

    Apex

    CoD

    CSGO

    mostly tryhard games :)

  5. I don't want to be rude but is my question really that bad or complicated to understand?
PUBLIC WEBSITE = YOU are able to view my website.

LOCAL WEBSITE = YOU are NOT able to watch my website but I am.

When I install Nginx and NodeJS on the Rock Pi A, it will run on "localhost", but how can I serve this website in a local network.  You having my Wifi Password and being connected will be able to view the page (if you know the local IP).

  6. Hello,

I've got myself a Rock Pi 4 with Ubuntu Server on it, how can I turn this Pi into a local web server for my projects?

Goal is to install NginX with NodeJS and access the website thru localhost/localip. The Pi should have access to the internet (to download packages).

I would connect to the Pi via SSH from my laptop.

    Pi 3 B+

Good value 4 your money. I have one and i'm still trying to find a purpose for mine.

Are there any downsides when using a Radxa ROCK Pi 4 Model A, 1GB RAM, Version 1.3 ?

A friend of mine told me that Raspberry Pi 3 B+ supports more systems than the Rock Pi 4.
So far I'm familiar with Ubuntu, Archlinux and Fedora.

If you do plan on streaming Ryzen would be the go, something like a 2600x (x for the higher clock) 9900k is a bit overkill imo.

Ye, but you never know what new stuff comes in the next 3-4 years.

VR looks really cool, "boneworks" makes really cool stuff.

Not sure if you got it right, but the 9900k was meant for gaming, not for streaming, because you were talking about streaming. I'm looking also forward to a 9700K. But if I look at the prices vs performance, the 9700k is really bad compared to the 9600K imho. It's like double the price for almost no FPS gain in FPS games, for sure it would work in games like starcraft, but I don't play those hehe.

9600K seems like the best choice when it comes to gaming.

The RTX 2070 is a middle ground, can prob handle 144fps on a 1440p mid/high settings.

Is BO4 or Apex supporting DLSS yet?

  9. Hello dear LTT fam,

I'm not following the tech lately and I want to buy a new gaming pc.

I will play mostly competitive games with a high refresh rate monitor, not sure if 1440p 144hz or 1080p 240hz. It doesn't need to run everything maxed out, I was playing mostly high res, 8xMSAA, mesh details high, texture mid/high, effects low/mid (depending what), shadows mid/high.

    Games I Play:

    1. Battlefield
    2. Call of Duty
    3. CSGO
    4. Apex Legends

I sold my old gaming pc and I have no parts except the Scythe Ashura Shadow cooler.

It's possible that I will stream stuff but if I decide to do so, I want a dual system. I'm really looking into getting the Pantheks Enthoo Mini XL case.

If I decide to stream I can simply buy the dual-system upgrade and turn it into a dual system.

The stream PC would look something like a Ryzen 2600 + ITX mobo setup but I'm not looking now into streaming.

Let's say that the PantheksEnthoo Mini XL is a must have case in this build.

What I've found is this here:

    1. i5 9600K
    2. RTX 2070
    3. G.Skill 16Gb 3600Mhz
    4. MSI MPG Z390I Gaming Edge AC
    5. BeQuiet! Pure Power 11 CM 600W
= about 1150 Euros. (Prices in Germany are different than in the US. Can't really convert the price)

Here is a link where everything including specs is listed and where I'm getting my parts from:

    https://geizhals.de/?cat=WL-1189710

I'm also thinking about getting a 9900K and some decent hardware so all I would need to do is to upgrade the GPU later on.

You can search for parts here:

Assuming this is Linux, do ps aux | grep -i nodemon, find out which process number nodemon is, then issue a kill -9 [process ID]

Alternatively you could do killall nodemon if that was the only instance running

Doesn't work for me, I can't run my node app on any port all are "taken" by a magic fairy...
