  1. Hello, I have 2 GPU's in my system, 1 for my main OS and 1 for virtualization. The first gpu (first pcie slot) is the one for the main OS, the second GPU is for vm's. Because of that my OS will not use it and it doesn't have any drivers for it. In the bios i have the setting "Initial Display Output" set to "PCIe 1 Slot", but sometimes it still tries to boot from the second GPU. If it tries to boot from the second gpu i need to turn off the pc and try booting again. This sometimes takes up to 6 tries which you could maybe understand that it is be very annoying. Hopefully somebody know what could be the issue, i have been having the problem for months now and it's really annoying. Thanks. Specs: Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 GAMING X Current Bios: F37c (F37d is the last, only updated AMD AGESA V2 to 1.2.0.7) The main gpu: 6900XT Second gpu: GTX 1060 (6gb)
  2. Hello I recently upgraded my pc with a new motherboard, CPU, ram and cooler. After puttering it together it booted up and had fun for a week or 2. Out of nowhere it began black screening it started and got in the the OS but then everything went black. The pc does run, and if I am in Teamspeak / Discord I can hear people and they can hear me for a bit (But it will stop after a few seconds). So thinking that it may have been a mounting problem I Took the pc apart, remounted everything and then turned it back on. That fixed it, but now a month or 2 later it has started to do the same thing again. It is even happening in the bios! If I try booting it a lot of times, and I mean between 10 to 50 times there will be a point where it stays on. There are no problems when that happens, all the games run as espected with no performance loss. I really hope somebody here knows what the problem could be or what troubleshooting steps I should take. The BIOS has been factory reset and the problem still occur, it sometimes doesn't even get to the boot screen. It seems to only happend when first booting it, like I said at some point the pc will stay on but the problem occurs daily after the pc has been off for a while. Specs: - Ryzen 9 5900X - 32 GB - 3600Mhz Corsair Vengeance PRO - GTX 1060 6GB - Corsair RM850x PSU - Be quite pure wings 2
  3. I looked at the post you send me and i think you meant XKB instead of xmodmap but the question that i currently have is, is there a way i can just put the second keyboard in russian or chinese? (Something I will never use)
  4. Thank you for responding : ) I am running Manjaro 18.1.5 and I have just tried running sxhkd which i got to play sound when pressing a key. The problem with this daemon is that it doesn't work keyboard specific. It's listening on both keyboards and i can't find a way to make it listen to just one. I also looked at the build in shortcut manager but that also doesn't seem to support it. Did i possibly miss something at the sxhkd deamon?
  5. Hello i have been trying to setup a second keyboard as a soundboard in manjaro for the past two days but i can't figure it out. What i have tried is using actkbd to detect the keypresses only on the second keyboard and then running the play command from sox to try and play sound like this: 30:::play /soundboard/sound.mp3 But when trying this i get the error: ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1089:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave First i tought it was a problem with it running in root so i changed the command to: 30:::sudo -u roy play /soundboard/message.mp3 But with this the exact same error occurred. On which I have been stuck, when I run 'play /soundboard/sound.mp3' manually in my terminal it works without any problems. I have also tried other sound playing libraries but they are giving me the same error as the one above. Trying it with a small piece of python also didn't fix the problem : /. I hope someone here knows a potential solution to the problem I am having, and is able to help me / try to help me with it. Greetings, Roy
