  1. Hello everybody, I am now thing for a long time how to update my setup. My situation: Work Laptop: Lenovo T14 (Thunderbold 3 or 4) Desktop PC: GTX 970; I7 4770 Dual Monitor Setup (One is the Dell U2520D so I have already kind of a USB c Hub including daisy chaining another monitor) What I want to do: Update my desktop to either a Laptop or a more compact desktop like the dell Optiplex or something Get another monitor for triple monitor setup (likely two 1080 and one 4k) get a USB-C / Thunderbolt Hub that will support triple displays Switch between both Laptops by just switching one cable Current Issues I dont want to use DisplayLink as I dont want another software running in the background and I am not even sure if I have permission to install that on my work laptop As far as I understand Thunderbolt only supports dual monitors. (found a comment under the CalDigit Thunderbolt 4 dock). I would have expected triple monitors not beeing an issue when running at 1080p. Dont really get that? There are some Docks out there that claim to support triple monitors anyways (e.g. This one) and dont seem to use display link as well. Is that maybe due to DisplayportAlt running independent of Thunderbolt? What would happen if I would connect to a usbc Port withour Thunderbolt but with e.g. USB 3.2 2x2. Would Thunderbolt docks still work? Is the Dual display limitation still the same? So you can see I am quite confused. Up to now I thought I was quite fast at picking up these topics. But the whole Thunderbolt, USB and display port situation seems just to be a mess atm. So thank you for any help. I also happy for some dock/hub recommendations PS: If anybody knows a USB-C / Thunderbolt switch, I am also thankful for recommendations. Seems also quite a small market...
  2. Yesterday evening I tried to run of graphics card(gtx 680) from a friend. I totally destroyed my windows(BSOD while booting: Critical Process Died) and i had to set it up new. now I'm running on a fresh windows with the gtx 680 since a few hours and no issues so far. If it works the next few hours well I am going to switch back to the gtx 970 again. But I am pretty sure now the graphics card is the issue.
  3. I have a corsair Rm650i. should be enough i guess
  4. already reinstalled windows and ran sfc several times
  5. This is the CrystalDisk extract. Is there anything else I need to check? I will try this later this evening. But I already reinstalled Windows(and drivers), Temperatures are fine too.
  6. yes you are right. And I already disabled the Page File so it shouldn't be related to the ssd.
  7. unfortunately i dont have another gpu to test. Im going to try onboard, but im not sure those games work with it. And i have no other possibility to recreate this issue. But i will try it.
  8. In the last time I'm getting more and more BSODs. They occur especially while gaming (Anno 1800 Beta and Apex). Here are a few Examples: -PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA -MEMORY_MANAGEMENT -FAULTY_HARDWARE_CORRUPTED_PAGE -ATTEMPTED_WRITE_TOREADONLY_MEMORY -KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE I tested the RAM with Memtest86 for 10 passes several times. Lowering the graphic settings reduces the BSOD frequency significantly. I'm pretty sure the RAM should be fine. So my question is what could it be? My bet would be graphics card. But i haven't found any method to verify this. I also attached several dmp files. If any further information are necessary for troubleshooting, please inform me. My System: Motherboard: MSI G45 Z87 CPU: i7-4770 GPU: MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G RAM: DDR3 Corsair Vengance 12 GB SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 500 GB OS: Windows 10 Pro (Windows 8 Upgrade) Thank you! 013119-5000-01.dmp 013119-5109-01.dmp 021019-4781-01.dmp 021019-5546-01.dmp 021019-7875-01.dmp
