  1. it is possible that the motherboard has a higher latency than yours does since the newer ones are getting faster and faster. im not sure that ram would make a difference but that might be something to look into. and the gpu drivers are the same version on both pcs?
  2. it is an asus rog strix rx580 8gb
  3. did you update any drivers before you started having this issue?
  4. googling error 6008 suggests someone is shutting it down remotely via third party software or remote access
  5. my case has 6 case fans alone, the aio has 2 and the gpu has 3. im sending it back for a replacement because the gpu is dying (why im seeing artifacts/flashing colors when playing games) this is a whole new issue o.o
  6. so i recently diagnosed my gpu. ill be sending it in for a replacement in the morning but i put i back in my pc to run some tests and turned on my pc. and on idle my gpu is now starting to overheat and shutdown my system. the card is brand new my system is clean. i applied new thermal compoun, made sure it has good contact, underclocked my gpu, did a ddu. and it is still overheating while idle any ideas why?
  7. monitors, game resolution, graphics settings, and possibly the motherboard could all cause drops in fps as well as any oc settings
  8. sorry its taking so long to reply by the way. im working on my own screen flickering issue myself with my gaming pc. everythings fine on any other screen but when i open a game and get to the point i can play it i get flashing colored dots all over the screen so im trying to find out how to fix it XD
  9. have you changed any of the hardware pr was it doing that out of the box
  10. could it be in your power settings?
  11. i posted about this in a different section but managed to rule out my gpu and the cable causing the issue, and the monitor is new so i hope thats not the problem. ive been having an issue lately of seeing colored pixelated dots and resolution changes. whats weird is that its only when i open a game and try to play o.o i did a driver update on my monitor before all this started and went to roll back the driver only to see that i dont get the option to do so since it says there was no past drivers. can anyone walk me through doing this manually?
  12. to download it i have to create an account and to create an account i need to be in a university...
  13. ok lol. i guess i shouldve read the whole page before posting more questions XD
  14. ill try that right away. thank you
  15. but like i said i set the gpu clocks back to default. is there a way to test the vram?
  16. i just got this gpu so imma be mad if the vram went bad on it. i just got it 3 days ago o.o
  17. like they said before me the 1080ti alone makes it worth it. personally i use an i5 8400 300 series cpu and have no complaints but im not playing all these super demanding games either so that and my new asus rox strix rx 580 oc is plenty for me to play rust and ark and many other games at 1080p and 60fps. the 1080ti will stomp all over basically anything you throw at it, assuming your not trying to play in 4k lol. the ssd id add to your build or add your hdd to the new one witch ever you prefer for the extra storage, the ram being the same as yours is fine but you might wanna get a 16gb set if you can in the future. there cheaper than you probably think.
  18. both systems are on the same network yes. i did notice after a bit of looking that even though there both on the same network one has access to completely different ports than the other. is that normal?
  19. Not 100% sure whats causing the issue being that my system has run perfect for 2 days with no issues at all even under full load. that said i booted up my pc to get on Dying Light and smash some faces. you know all the good stuff. everything seemed normal until the game got to the main screen when i saw a TON of weird flashing lights. So i though ok maybe just a flashy update to make the main screen more appealing. so i went ahead and loaded into the game to play and it kept flashing even during gameplay. note that i havent changed anything. i reinstalled the gpu to ensure proper seating, i monitored the gpu temp and it stayed under 80c, changed the refresh rate to see if it was causing an issue, reset my gpu back to stock speed, restarted my pc several times, and made sure the hdmi cable was properly connected to both the monitor and gpu and still having the flashing issue. tested out gta 5 and all my other games and there all doing the same thing.
  20. yeah i understand that but its the potential of every new component thats exciting. its like recreational drones, you never know what kinda tech or idea will come up based off of it
  21. so i see there is a really neat looking new aio i believe being released in April this year its the Galahad aio cpu cooler by LIAN LI in both 240mm and 360mm variants. not really sure what to look far from its preformance but what do you guys think about it. you excited?
  22. yes those ports are open in both UDP and TCP inbound and outbound for rust, the fire wall on both pcs i turned off to make sure it wouldnt interfere and for some reason it still wont come up or let my friend connect via invite
  23. and as i said i have satellite internet. with satellite internet they give you set ports you can use, they wont allow you to open or close any of them, beleive me i called and complained about it.
  24. i have done everything i can do to get the games to play over lan. for example for rust i make a dedicated server, i invite my friend to play on it with me since there on the same network, and it says server not responding, without that invite they cant find the server at all but i know its working because i can join it. the issue is the same with games like unturned, Ark, and nomad so its not just an issue with one game, even so this still doesnt explain why 2 pcs have access to different ports and none of them are the same as the other. they should have the same ports being that they are both connected to the same network.
