    It's not my headphones, they work fine on my phone. It's not the sound levels being unbalanced in either the media player, nor in Windows. Is this a hardware issue?
     
    Tried re-installing Realtek audio drivers, still nothing.
     
    Unplugged the HD Audio connector and replugged. Works fine now.

    What MB do you have? If it's a higher end MB, it's onboard audio should be fine. If not, yeah I'd go for it.

    Yeah it'll be fine. I would recommend a better PSU (mabye gold) however since you'll have to pay both for the new PSU and labour, I'd just leave it.
