  1. Get an iPhone. It's the best decision I've ever made. They're the best phones when it comes to longevity, at least from a software perspective. Right now it's reasonable to expect any iPhones to be supported for at least five years. Granted, hardware problems aren't cheap to fix, so if you're someone who tends to break their phones, get an insurance policy or Apple Care for the phone. If you're not clumsy, a case will do just fine.

I honestly wouldn't have expected them to refresh the iPad Mini at all. Still one of the most unexciting Apple-related releases of recent times. They're basically using the 2017 10,5" iPad Pro shell with the current-gen iPhone Xs processor and position it as a mid-tier device between the base model iPad and the iPad Pro. Frankly, I'd either go full budget and buy the 2018 iPad for around 300€ or spent the extra and get an iPad Pro with the 120 Hz screen and the new pencil.
  3. I tried FreshBooks for invoicing but quit it after the trial month. Same goes for TunnelBear, tested the free version back when they were sponsoring LTT but never ended up paying. Would like to try Savage Jerky, but I‘m from Germany and they don‘t ship here.

The My Little Pony Mega Thread

It would have never even occurred to me to look for a trailer for a new season of My little Pony. How the times have changed. As someone who's been out of touch with the series after season 3, I like that they're apparently still pushing the series forward narratively. Even back in 2013 (?) people thought that the thing was surely going to be over soon, so the fact that they've kept it alive another 6 years while apparently keeping things interesting is quite impressive to me. Ending it sooner rather than later seems like a good idea though. Even in large-scale live-action productions, padding the content in order to generate more revenue mostly ends up being detrimental to the quality of a series as a whole. I'm actually quite interested in what they're going to do in the future. I mean keeping the brand going for what, 10 years at this point definitely speaks volumes as to its profitability. I doubt the corporate side behind it is going to leave the series unreplaced. Anyway, it looks like it could be a fun final, probably somewhat reminiscent of season 4 I'd imagine.

    Motivation for sports/exercise

There are great reasons to work out! Firstly, and if nothing else, working out or doing a sport-related activity in your free time is a great way to balance out an office job. I know from experience that it might not feel necessary, particularly at a young age, but your body will thank you for it in the long run. You'll feel better and you'll be more healthy. Another big reason to start working out, to me at least, was building up more confidence in myself. Depending on your body type it can take a while to become visually more fit, but once people notice, it can be a great feeling to get complimented for it. Of course it can also be a way of building a social network if you'd like to get to know people. I think team-based sports are usually better for something like this, but even at the gym it's not unlikely you'll get to know people.
  6. What would you even do with more than one account?

The My Little Pony Mega Thread

The idea's the same. You'll usually have a bunch of episodes somewhere in the middle that are either referenced in the finale or tie into it in one way or another. Granted, some of the mid-season episodes revolve around the characters working towards (and essentially achieving) their dreams, so I guess there is relatively major stuff happening every so often.
  8. Thanks, guys! I'd been considering the DSG options, but I have a dual-clutch auto in my current car and have been wanting to go back to a manual for a while. Good point! The downsizing trend in particular is what made me consider the Mustang as well. You never know when these big NA engines are going extinct. Then again, the M140 seems like a great compromise. Still a relatively big engine, RWD, manual, plus decent space and cost.

Schools doing field trips to the...... Apple Store?!

I thought this was about their education sessions, but this really does sound a bit ridiculous. Then again, I‘d like to know what exactly they‘re officially doing in the scope of these field trips. I mean, this has to have been approved by someone, so I‘m assuming it would at the very least sound somewhat attractive on paper.
  10. I hope I'm not misusing the thread, but I'm looking to buy a fun, new-ish car soon and I'd like to get a second opinion on the matter. Here's what I'm considering: 2016/2017 Mustang GT 2016-2018 BMW M140i 2016-2018 Seat Leon Cupra 300 My main criteria is decent reliability, a manual option and a price of around 30.000€ (this is in Germany). Has anyone here owned any of these or can otherwise chime in as to what they'd recommend? I'm leaning towards the Mustang for novelty factor and the V8, but it's the most expensive. Still, the M140i is crazy fast for what it is and the Cupra would be the best bang for your buck. I'm torn, so any input is much appreciated!
  11. I've just checked and I didn't notice this particular setting change, or any other ones for that matter.
  12. I think the main issue here is not the violation but rather the fact that the majority of users aren't going to care. Companies will find and utilize other ways of tracking their users, and as long as there's no real consequence for doing so without explicit consent, they'll continue to do it. I'm just surprised how little people seem to care about their own privacy, to the point where they're willing to give up a considerable part of it for use of a simple free app.

I am about to trigger some people?

So you're planning to finance the entire cost of the car? If so, I'd definitely advise against doing it. Still, it really comes down to your personal finances. If you feel like you can comfortably afford it, then I don't see why you shouldn't be doing it. I bought what had been a very expensive car to me at 21 and I never regretted it. As long as you're a responsible driver and insured against everything else, you can sell it at anytime and get most of your money back.
  14. LG is the one brand that managed to produce a phone so terrible it made me swear to never buy anything from the company ever again. Haven‘t regretted it. Aside from maybe OLED TVs, most of their products are easily forgettable, anyway.

Electronic Arts Stocks Takes A Nosedive Again

Others have mentioned it, but it's hardly surprising considering the bad press EA has generated over the years.
