  1. this video/post made me realize i could spice my space up a LOT just by tiding things up a bit. this first pass was $0 spent. 2.5 hours of time Before After yea. the reflectex in the window and window AC looks tacky but it works SOOO well at keeping the heat out! so. functionality before looks! things that bug me: 1: Monitor mismatch Hight! omg! i thought all vasa mounts had the same mounting point. well. the second monitor on the right i bought off craigslist doesn't even include a vasa mount! luckally i found an adapter online. still looks like crap. on top of that. the monitor isn't even 1080p like i thought. welp. that was a fat waste of money. 2: mouse pad. i plan to buy one of those full desk mouse pads. just haven't decided which yet. and waiting to get the budget. no office LTT. but the gamers nexus wireframe components one is kind of sick looking! 3: really showing 3rd world issues here. but EVGA. you make one UGLY ass card. its a beast with power. but.. that curvy RGB section and than you got the red ATI/early AMD style trim randomly on it. defiantly the ugliest RTX 3080 out there. its kind of like having an ugly child. its your child and it does great things! but winning beauty contests is not one of them. Planned upgrades! (coming soon! ™) 1: power strip! i bought a power strip / cable tray to get the cables off the ground. apparently thats a linus no no. 2: shelf trim. i plan to get some decrative molding to put on the front side of the shelf 3: shelf LED. i have RGB LEDs i plan to hide behind the molding. 4: mouse pad as mentioned Unplanned or maybe near future upgrades (money premitting) 1: ultra wide monitor. ditch 2 monitors and go with a single ultrawide! 2: move my 40 inch TV where the mic boom is (if ultra wide monitor is aquired) 3: secondary PC (likely a thin client) used independently for secondary uses such as game wiki/streaming/youtube wile gaming (plugged into 40 inch TV) let the roasting commence!
  2. so everybody knows that SLI/crossfire scaling for games is trash. you would be lucky to see %10-%20 more FPS for the first card and horribly diminished returns for every card after. my question is. do tools like blender/auto-desk etc scale similarly? or do they even support multi GPU with or without SLI? (cards that don't support SLI/crossfire) im currently using a machine with a phenom II chip 6 cores no HT, 3.2 ghz nvidia gtx 650, 12gb of ram yea. its dated. and even starts chugging working on simple models in sketchup. was a great little rig years back. but time is catching up and the prices of threadripper are becoming more reasonable and i'm thinking of doing a render-box build i'm planning a Threadripper 1920x and maybe 1x RX vega 64 or 2x RX 580 (this is more friendly for over time) but like i said. i don't know how well tools scale with multiple GPUs any tips or suggestions are welcome.
  3. gotcha. its been a while since i used forums. but yea. kinda makes since. its basically kinda like desktop CPUs with "turbo" but instead of boosting speed it just switches to the faster cores. just happy to have battery life comparable to my nokia 3100
  4. yea. but doesn't the oneplus 3 also have that? also. still would like to see a bench mark on a device with differant android versions installed and see how much a difference JUST android version can do.
  5. so i recently upgraded from my Oneplus 3 to a pocophone and even though the battery is only 33% bigger. i have noticed a MUCH more than 33% run time. i averaged ~1 1/2 days with my oneplus with normal use. however with my pocophone i havn't had this thing on charge since Sunday morning and its currently Wednesday morning (~2 days) and its still only 68%. this battery is just nuts. it should be dead by now. but its still got plenty of charge. i remember there being a video where Linus said something about oreo saving battery more than older versions of android? has this been bench marked? i can't seem to find anything on google other than tips on how to save battery.
