Ok so I am in a bit of an interesting situation, I am currently running Linux mint 17 cinnamon and I cannot for the life of me Install windows. First let me preface this by saying that i do not want to get rid of linux because I am a student and it is what I do all of my work on I just want windows for gaming in the little free time that I have.
so i originally was dual booting win 7 and mint (win 7 on my ssd and mint on one of my hdds (i have 3)) and i got a license for win 8.1 through my school and thought, wow I am going to install that... after attempting to install it on my ssd it i gave up and decided to put linux on there because I am tired and like quick boot times. forward to now, either windows will not install on any of my 4 HDDs (I picked up another one)
the errors that i am getting are that windows will not install on a GPT partition table and must be installed on an ntfs drive, or after i change all of that with gparted I get "We couldn't install in this etc. info about what happened: 0x80300024)
Things that I have tried: many different types of partitions and partition tables, disconnecting all drives except for the one i want to install on, I ave tried both Win 7 and Win 8.1
I am trying to install this off of a USB Drive, and the only solution I have not tried yet is to install win 7 on another machine and move the HDD over( i may be able to do this by next week)
