  1. I have a Ghost Pro with the 870m, and it's real nice. Impossible to avoid GPU throttling on this thing, but I'm not sure if there were improvements made to the 970m. Battery life isn't great, might get 4 hours on it in non-gaming applications. Forget about gaming on it without the adapter. For me, if it weren't for the throttling, this would be a perfect machine for its use case. If I were in the market now, I'd be looking at something like a Blade Stealth+Core combination or something with a bit more airflow to avoid the overheating.
  2. For those that would have had the Mass Effect Trilogy on this list if not for the ending to 3, try the MEHEM and Citadel Epilogue mods to wash the poor taste out of your mouth.
  3. 80C sounds nice to me. My GPU can't clock over 670Mhz without creeping up to about 95 degrees, so it's constantly throttling up and down. For a laptop GPU, 80 sounds fairly normal, really.
  4. It definitely brought mine to its knees (MSI GS60 Ghost, 870m) - but there were a couple things I did to fix it. 1. Run at 720p - Still a great looking game, despite the lower resolution. 2. Run PhysX on the CPU instead of the GPU 3. Delete the APEX_ClothingGPU_x64.dll file. There were a couple other tweaks I made, but I can generally run the game at 50-60 fps, at least until my GPU throttles due to heat output. Flaw in the design of the laptop, I guess. I never drop below 30 FPS, though.
  5. I agree, that's the one feature I'd prefer to be a little different or be able to switch between views. However, the overall functionality is quite nice, especially with the armor slot mod installed. Being able to sort by slot/value/item type is super handy. And if there are items I can't make due to lack of materials, it's as easy as scrolling down. I have a ton of armor mods, so sometimes scrolling to the bottom of the list is a bit cumbersome, but given that I'm playing with a controller, lstickdown+dpaddown fastforwards the scrolling process. Not sure if that's a feature on m+kb, but I imagine that it is.
  6. I like the SkyUI crafting menu fine, just have to utilize the search feature. But yeah, that show armor slots mod is an absolute must for people with a lot of modded armors.
  7. I like stealth games, as they appeal to both strategy and shooting mechanics. Planning out an outpost assault in Metal Gear Solid V or Far Cry 3 can be a lot of fun. Deus Ex: Human Revolution scratched a similar itch.
  8. I constantly have a Mass Effect & Skyrim Playthrough going on to some degree. Just finished my first FemShep playthrough, now I'm trying to decide what to do next. Recently, Witcher 3 gripped me - my first playthrough was a little rushed, so I immediately started a new one.
  9. I highly recommend heading over the the r/skyrimmods reddit and going through the beginners guide to modding in the sidebar. If you have questions, the community there is super helpful, and things are generally kept up to date a bit better than some other modding guides that litter the internet.
  10. Picked up Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition, FORCED, and got a copy of Borderlands 2 for my wife. Gettin' my co-op on.
  11. I also advise not buying from The Source - those guys are a bunch of high pressure skeezebags.
  12. The advancements in Dolphin in the past couple years have been astounding. Being able to play Melee netplay in widescreen with an HD texture pack with less input lag than console+CRT always seemed like a pipe dream, but now it's a reality. Loving it.
  13. Skyrim's real good. The modding scene is probably the best in all of gaming at this moment.
  14. If you want to mod Skyrim to its fullest, you NEED SkyUI for the Mod Configuration Menu. There's also a mod called SkyUIAway that allows for this while keeping the vanilla UI modules intact Personally, I recommend the Natural Lighting & Vivid Atmospherics ENB, which is fairly new, and brings in some new weathers as well.
