  1. Have a NetApp 2.5" 15.3TB SED NVMe U.2 Gen3 2x2 (X-4019A), with no way to test it, zero it, etc. Got it as part of a pallet of electronics at auction. Would really like to figure out the best way of getting health data from it, cos I could easily pay off a CC with this lol
  2. You mean a defunct PSU review website, and a R&D Manager, not engineer. Also, someone who has a history of using ad hominem replies to people in this and other forums if you go through his replies to others. Not an ad hom but that is some sage crap advice. 2 feet of 18awg does not a lot of resistance make. It's more likely a sudden system shutoff would be due to a PSU being overloaded in spikes, or thermal protection on the system. But I digress.
  3. Same argument Apple uses for why people shouldn't be able to work on their own devices.
  4. This is false when it comes to a properly discharged PSU. And there are more than enough users out there that know how to do this.
  5. I think you are missing the point entirely. It's not whether or not the parts or serviceable, it's the fact that they void the warranty due to the case being opened which is in violation of the MMA. Say, I open the case to blow out dust after a year but do nothing else. I then send the PSU in for a warranty issue due to something. They legally have to prove that my cleaning dust caused the failure. They cannot legally just say "Case has been opened, therefore the warranty is void"
  6. So. Looks like SeaSonic, Corsair, and EVGA all have the classic "open the unit, warranty is void" clause, even tho....that's slightly against the Magnuson-Moss Act. I've got a post going on Reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/righttorepair/comments/naeiqn/seasonic_opening_the_psu_voids_the_warranty/ I've sent a similar email to EVGA as well and will post their reply.
  7. TO LINUS PERSON Dude, that shout out on WANshow, *thumbs up* Be ready for a few more coming in to say thanks
  8. I must figure out why my scheduled task for F@H to run all night, then close down in the mornings never stuck >.<

  11. could always 3d print a solution to remove strain on the connectors
  12. Would need to figure out a decent mounting system for it for the use case I have. Only have a 2GB pi4 at present. Won't be useful in a stacked multi-pi scenario (could be done for laughs I guess)

I do not like the new look of the forum if I'm…

    Yeah.............Not liking it either.
  14. When people ask for recommendations, then question the advice they are given from people that clearly know what they are talking about *popcorn*
  15. A lot of people install their own OS on their systems. Whether it be doing a clean reinstall, switching to a new OS, deciding to dual boot to another OS, etc.
  16. I mean, not to poke at a certain video schilling DS or anything. (OK, maybe a little) Thoughts?

  18. Well, its enuff to cause inefficiency in thermal transfer if thats what you are aiming for
  19. Does this even meet forum guidelines? I mean, this isn't a question, this is a statement posted by a user in the incorrect place.
  20. This is kind of a mod, but more of a project I am working on for using spare chassis for other things: 3D printer controllers usually are just mounted to the side of the printer, or some come in large controller boxes (with loud fans) So, I was thinking about taking mITX or Micro ATX cases and using them as a single/multi printer controller and power housing unit. Can use quiter cooling with more efficient airflow. First mod is a PCI bracket for mounting a control board. Im using the Big Tree Tech SKR 1.3 (which has the same dimensions and mount locations of the 1.4) My only problem right now is that my FDM printer is down while I need to replace the FEP on my resin printer. I have to print this in two parts on the resin printer due to the X axis on the build plate being 120mm, and the X-axis of the bracket being 120mm (the slicing software says nope) Will be working on making an optical drive bay mount to hold industrial PSU's. Aready have some 120mm and 80mm brackets edited to work with this.
  21. *holds up cardboard sign* Will Fold For Replacement E3D 12v 1.75mm Hotend Kit I need to get my FDM back up so I can start work on my custom air ducting project.
