    You want the Rocket Lake (11th Gen) CPU and for two very good reasons:
     
    1) The virtualization tech for using VBS, which is literally so important as a security feature that Intel asks reviewers to enable it for Windows 11 gaming benchmarks on Alder Lake, is much, much better performing.  Like 20% better in many applications.
     
    2) Even though gaming performance isn't really better, for day to day desktop use the new iGPU on 11th gen is much better, especially driving high resolution displays.
     
    Other notes, the motherboards should be the same as for the 10th gen CPUs, you don't need to mix that up.  Also, when it comes to OS and software support as the system ages, the 11th Gen will be supported for much longer - figure 8 years versus 5 years.  So you'll make up the price difference on the back-end.  Also, yes, for gaming, the 11th gen i9 is basically a waste of sand... but for desktop use, the i5 and i7 are really nice chips.
