  1. Have you verified there's no newer version of your Bluetooth driver available? As a long-shot, do you still have the 1060? You could switch back and see if the keyboard issue persists. Given you've done a full system reinstall I'm inclined to believe it might be hardware related with the keyboard, but not sure.
  2. You should be able to without running into issues. If it misbehaves you can always disable the integrated graphics so the dedicated GPU is the only one active.
  3. When I was just starting to use Blender and learning the very basics I tried a few different Youtube tutorial series until I found a creator whose style worked well with the pace I wanted to learn at. Once I got some seat time in I could then know keywords to search for specific tutorials on a particular function as needed. Really, Youtube is such a vast resource for learning just about anything these days that I would start there. There's probably value in something like Brilliant, even if just for a month or two for a different perspective. But again, honestly, there are so many well-done tutorial series on Youtube to get your feet wet.
  4. Does the keyboard work at all prior to user log-on, such as mashing F2 or DEL to get into the BIOS? Perhaps you have some form of fast boot on that's preventing all the USB functions from working until your at the desktop.
  5. Yeah, I know. Without any games/workload listed it's hard to say for sure if you will have any issues, hence why I asked if you currently find yourself using close to 8 GB. 8GB is still fine for now for 1440p, but 3-4 years down the road it's likely to be more of a risk with newer games. Can't say for sure though. 6700xt would be the "safer" option if you're not dedicated to Nvidia or AMD.
  6. Depends on the games you run. I ran a 1080 on 1440p ultrawide without issues. Since you're already running 1440 do you have VRAM issues currently with the 1080?
  7. I've been super happy with my Index. The Pimax looks tempting but might still be a bit tough to drive in all games. I like being able to run pretty much every VR title at 120 FPS and I'm not sure even the 3080 ti can do that with the Pimax. The "lower" resolution of the Index headset has never been an issue. Once you're engaged in whatever game you just don't notice. Controllers are awesome. I really hope the Index 2 can go full wireless. I have a ceiling-mounted cable management system in my office that makes it pretty good, but there's still a cable. I wanted nothing to do with FB lock-in, so Oculus, while compelling, was a no-go for me.
  8. Your motherboard manual will indicate what those LEDs mean. Start there with the troubleshooting.
  9. It doesn't scream scam and the pics match other PNY 980 pics online. Price... IDK, but be aware it's not sold by Walmart, rather, a third party seller.
  10. If it was bought under a contract it may automatically be unlocked once the contract term is up and the device is payed off. Typically two years. If it's not under contract you need to contact Verizon.
  11. Theoretically, yes, but I've never found a non-OEM battery that lasts as long as the OEMs did in a replacement scenario. It's an 8 year old laptop... I'd just use and not worry about it. Even if it lasts only two or three years you can buy another battery, but at that point the laptop itself is going to be well beyond obsolete.
  12. Is your router 6E certified? Are you in the same room as the router when gaming and getting lag? 6E allows use of the 6 GHz spectrum, which offers a theoretical increase in throughput, speed, and bandwidth. It is also more susceptible to interference from walls, appliances, etc. If the router is only Wifi 6 then the card that came with the laptop is more than enough.
  13. Even with a non-OEM battery the laptop charge controller will stop charging and enter a standby/trickle charge mode when the battery is full. It's not going to keep pumping charge into the battery. That's basic charging behavior. If you use a replacement battery so sketchy it couldn't support this the laptop would likely just give you a battery error and not allow charging at all.
  14. No practical way. Possible? Sure, I'm sure somebody, somewhere could make it work, but the effort wouldn't be worth it. What actual functionality have you lost with those BIOS settings being removed? I don't know what 'Primary AC Use' does...
  15. Detecting a non-OEM battery is pretty straightforward, so no tricks. If they can't verify the batter specs and integrity (because third party) then disabling some power options can make sense.
  16. They are both 24" 1080p IPS with FreeSync. Only difference is refresh rate. 144 Hz is "better" only if the higher refresh rate matters to you.

I wouldn't be so sure of that and is a pretty risky stance for cybersecurity. I would not trust anything short of a reformat.
  18. I don't believe that in the slightest, especially since the current level of ads has been established as "normal". Why would they reduce them? If people do disable ad blockers then it's just that much more ad revenue for them. Profit is a pretty strong motivating factor.
  19. I have been paying for Youtube Premium for years now and will continue to do so as I get a lot of entertainment from Youtube. I just view it like other streaming services. Without any sort of ad blocking browsing websites on a cell phone because a disgusting wall of adds with two sentences of content sandwiched in between. If ads weren't so intrusive and aggressive I'd leave it (privacy/tracking part aside), but with the current status quo my router-level blocking will stay enabled.
  20. Not some prank where someone has plugged in another wireless keyboard receiver into your computer?
