  1. doing a fresh installof windows 8.1 pro. what drivers do i need to get and install 1st? thanks!
  2. this is regarding a windows 8.1 pro intallation. Does it matter if i install windows updates or drivers 1st on a fresh install? it seems everytime i fresh install and do drivers 1st the updates tend to fail. My ocd kicks in coz of all those failed updates and i reinstall windows. When i let update by itself w/o doing drivers, The updates install fine. Please lmk the proper way to do updates for windows 8.1
  3. like the above poster said go for the one you like to look at better but if you're not planning on having a SLI setup and want to maximize the capability of your SSD, u might want to consider an H97 board.as it has the most updated feature set if youre not looking for SLI or OC'ing. u could save few bucks and headaches with a current gen mobo.
  4. have you considered an H97 board from ASUS?
  5. well to be specific it will be for a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132400&cm_re=z97_asus-_-13-132-400-_-Product. i'd save around 40 bucks.
  6. I just saw the deal post on this from NCIX US and it looks like they are not honoring the deal as it was a mistake on their end. I was looking forward to this too but they took it down before i could add to cart and the cart became buggy. so shady, false advertising.
  7. is it worth buying refurb products from online retailers? i.e. Newegg, Amazon,NCIX? if u have any experience on this please share.
  8. thanks for that i think ill do an H97 board, just hate MSI w/ a passion. their tech supp is junk.
  9. i understand that, Thanks for your guys' input i think im gonna go w/ an I5. I dont plan on overclocking, i think w/ a 4590 as the most reasonable for my budget. which board should i got w/ $140-150 budget? keen on ASUS as it seems the most feature packed and most stable in terms of reliability and stability
  10. I just thought the huperthreading on i3's could be a factor and count as quad-core.
  11. thanks logicalDRM, AMD has given me nothing but problems so sold the board and making switch to intel, hopefully im not trading headaches, thanks man, AMD has given me nothing but headaches so i sold the board and making the switch to intel hopefully i'm not trading headaches. Do you know if an i3 4170 will be enough for Witcher 3? World of warcraft ? and will it hold me up for a year or 2 or should i make the i5 upgrade?
  12. is an i3 4170 good enough for witcher 3? ir should i go w/ an i5 if so which cheapest i5 should i get?
  13. I've done multiple bios update and cmos resets and clean installs over the last few weeks trying to get the best results and recently when i do a bios update and let it load to windows, it tells me that it can't detect an OS. is this because of the new windows 10 rollout update?
