update to 22h2 crashes at 100% installation

Yours should meet min requirement for windows 11. It is also a paranoid to think you can't use a computer without an update. For windows 11 you might want to see if TPM 2.0 and amd-v is enabled. -
Not at all.
-
He already said it was only for egpu which is 2 twice as for than a minimum requirement. Wouldn't you agree that it is sufficient?

Well, if you are asking if there is a use for it sure. You can put nas, proxmox, or get your feet wet with self-hosting apps or run a personal website.

get a new gpu or upgrade entire system?
DarkAcid1212 replied to tuba_notuva's topic in New Builds and Planning
Get entire last gen setup as your system is ddr3 based there is really not enough reason to keep it. -
Minimum power rate of 1060 6gb is 120w. So I think it is safe to say it is enough.

No this is from roughly 8-9 years ago.

Computer "freezing" under little to no load
DarkAcid1212 replied to GregoryJC's topic in Troubleshooting
It is definitely one of the weirder issues, but one thing I think you should try is to disable hardware-accelerated gpu scheduling. You can fine this by right click empty space on the desktop->display setting->scroll down and find "Graphics Settings"-> disable hardware-accelerated gpu scheduling -
Swapping out for new mother board and processor
DarkAcid1212 replied to Dankrio's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I've done it without reinstalling windows, but sooner or later I did a complete reinstall. It is always best to go with fresh installation with hardware updates on those occasions. It seems there are a quite a few difference that makes windows unstable. -

DIY VPN Pritunl Setup Tutorial - LTT Releases - Linus Tech Tips Ltt has a good tutorial on how you can create your own vpn. I would personally use Zerotier per device bases. It's like a virtual switch that makes a virtual private network. There will be app per devices which you can connect it as if you are on vpn. I recommend this because regardless of the fact that that you are using your own VPC or any VPN service leaves a record, but because zerotier is still pip but provides first information to tunnel and completely hands off after, it is safer and faster. -
Should I put a GPU in my Plex server?
DarkAcid1212 replied to airborne spoon's topic in Servers, NAS, and Home Lab
Proxmox you can use lxc and amd gpu (both apu and igpu) to transcode. Plex with apu gpu driver image on docker (image: mauimauer/spritsail-plex). You will need plex pass. -
I would buy cheapest one and wait for 5800x3d to go down.

There could be many reasons when new built computer has those issues. First thing I check is whether cooler on cpu block have installed correctly. Some manufacture put a sticker on the cpu block when not removed correctly cause thermal related issues including freezing up and or unexpected shutdown. If this is first time you are building, you will probably need to buy thermal compound before doing this. Unmount the cooler wipe out the block of thermal paste and check if there is a sticker on it. Reapply the thermal mount the cooler back on. If this is a custom PC someone built for you. You will have to run HW info to identify if your CPU is suffering from thermal issue and send them your PC back to fix it. Of course.....it being an open loop cooling, I hope it is a later.

Okay hear me out, I bought Govee after LTT sponsor last Sept. Of course, because their product line up seems fair and makes sense, I bought a couple of floor lights. They are horrible and I am not buying it ever again. They have reduced polling per api to 10,000 24hrs per api keys and Govee google home integration is nothing but trouble. I am ALWAYS getting google home "oops can't connect to the light" when I turn on it from the app. The best part is, govee regardless of the message it works! If I had known that they would reduce api polling rate after LTT sponsor, I would have never bought this. In fact, I feel this is worse than cync situation (Don't ask me).
