So decided to give windows 10 a go again and downloaded build 10041 and tried out windows 10 for a bit. I went ok iike where this is going and tried to go back to windows 8.1 but then it said sorry can't do this right now. i try many times but it still gives me the same error. To make matters worse the recovery image i had for 8.1. on my USB drive wasn't working so now i'm stuck with 10 right now unless someone has a trick to get 8 back or did 10 completely wipe windows 8 from my laptop? Now I sorta out a few bugs and got it more in a working state but I really do miss 8 and want it back without having to go out and rebuying it. Also max payne 3 seems to not like this build of windows 10 and won't load at all but it worked just fine under 8.1

update: ok so when i unplug the kraken 7.1 and use the speakers on my laptop everything is balenced out. why is the game not acting right with my headset then? no other game does this and before anyone asks the game runs with max settings with no SSAA at a locked 30FPS so the framerate is not the cause for audio issues.

when i start the fight i barely hear the battle music and when characters do jutsus like naruto's rasangon for example the sound hurts my ears. all my other games sound fine. im using the razer kraken 7.1 gaming headset btw. is there no way to fix this/adjust the sound settings for naruto?

hmm that would be strange if 1 file from windows is messing up apps and microsoft products but it wouldn't be microsoft's 1st F up -.-

So for almost 2 weeks now videos in internet explorer, windows media player, movie maker and various app from the windows store are not showing up as fullscreen images and keep cropping the picture and its getting annoying as hell. strangely enough google chrome, firefox and games do not have these issues and i think it's an issue with microsoft products. i have seen some reports on facebook about the 14.4 driver causing black screens for some people but i'm not entirely sure its a driver issue or not. in that same week on the weekend i used norton antivirus to do a system scan then once it was done i got rid of it and then started to defraggment my HDD using defraggler. then there was another update to windows essentials. what do you guys think the problem is and how to i stop the images from cropping themselves?

I just got assassin's creed freedom cry and I was wandering if there was a way to get better performance since I heard freedom cry and assassin's creed 4 are unoptimized on PC. The game defaulted at high settings but the FPS was way too low. In the end I found 1024x600 low settings with motion blur on to be the best I could do and that was playable. However I know my computer should run this game a lot better than what I have seen so far. Specs are: ASUS laptop with an Overclocked AMD A8 4500m APU(quad core CPU at 2.3ghz when gaming GPU 7640g DX11 shader model 5.0 at 1200mhz) 6GB of ram, windows 8.1 64 bit and I defragmented my HDD last weekend. My drivers are all up to date, all extra programs are closed and vsnyc is off. I also got metro last light last weekend and my computer ran that with little to no issues with DX11 enabled and got anywhere between 24-60FPS. Crysis 3 also runs fine as well. Any tips to improve the performance in AC freedom cry/ AC4? for anyone wandering FPS in AC freedom cry was around 18-38FPS but hovers in the 20s a lot as well. target FPS would be 24-40FPS for me or at least stay away from going below 22FPS for no reason.

I think they will die out due to the costs of marketing, hardware that is already dated and many other reasons. xbox went to shit, Nintendo is like the blackberry of the gaming world and sony is just broke. in the case of sony its not cause of the gaming devision but due to low sales in their other products. now don't get me wrong I would love to own a ps4 and will someday but due to sony closing down 20 out of 31 of its US based stores, discontinuing sony vaio computers and laying off developers has me worried so I may only use ps4 for exclusives and get multiplats on pc. Pcs are getting cheaper and easier to use and the steam machines and cloud gaming will only speed up the death of consoles. I can play games on my laptop and take it with me anywhere I want, and if I want a console like experience I can hook my laptop up to my smart tv, get a xbox 360 controller and use steam big picture mode. same does for desktops, all in ones, phones, smart tvs and tablets. this is the last generation of gaming consoles so enjoy the consoles while you still can.

I tried malwarebytes and it did delete stuff but I don't think it caught everything

So stupid me tried to torrent batman arkham origins from kickass torrents/thepiratebay and now I get more ads when I browse the internet. I never did finish downloading the game cause I was worried I was gonna screw something up. One example of adware is when I go to youtube I see ads on the side of video im trying to watch and then the ad will start playing a video for some stupid product over the video im trying to watch. I used both Norton and windows defender to do a system scan and both came up with nothing. I installed adblock but some ads may get threw except on firefox. but on chrome and internet explorer the ads might pop up. I also notice my browsing experience is a little more sluggish sometimes and im thinking it could be do to adblock but who knows. is there a way to fix this before I have to refresh my whole pc?

im glad I went with AMD. the A8 4500m APU in my laptop ran the beta without any issues. I just had to disable shadows(however some were still there) and turn off MSAA with everything else on medium-high and was able to hit 60ish FPS at 720p. here's a youtube video of me playing the game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYrlUSi9itY

I guess I could have been nicer. its just that people always talk crap about me gaming on a laptop so sometimes I come off rude cause I don't like people telling me how to do things. I like to optimize my stuff for peak performance rather than upgrade just for the hell of it. as for ubisoft games after reading some of their statements in the past about PC gaming I don't even know if I will bother with watch dogs on pc. if its optimized well which means it makes full use of 8GB of ram quad core CPUs and DX11 GPUs then i'll try the game. but if its another AC3 or AC4 and they decide to damage control on why the performance sucks then I may give up on playing ubisoft titles on PC all together. by the way what are some good games they have made that actually ran well on PC?

APUs not only have their own vram but use system memory as vram and that's why I can run something like crysis 3 which also required 1GB of vram. as for the comment about the guy suggesting a desktop i'm not trying to be rude but I hate when people tell me to do it without a good reason. yes I like 60FPS and good graphics but its not required. 30 is enough for me. and people act like computer parts grow on trees because it costs money! as a broke college student a desktop is a ways off and its cheaper just to get a ps4 at the moment. I just feel like with pc gamers I have to lay out the ground rules from the get go because again you don't something like a 780 ti or i7 to play any video game really. everyone has different standards for games based on the hardware they have. the laptop standard is 720p 30FPS and the ps4 is 1080p 30FPS minimum. but that's just me

and no my APU doesn't get that hot since ASUS has good cooling in their products. plus when im done gaming I downclock the CPU so I don't waste power and extend the life of the computer
