  2. My brother wants to buy a new PC and asked if i could help him the the configuration. His primary uses are Media Consumption, Research on internet, Word processing etc. Please suggest a configuration that would be usable for approx 5 yrs... A dedicated GPU is not required, and Intel or AMD both are okay until its cost effective. Budget is $300-350 or INR 20-25K. Please help...
  3. I would definitely need higher storage. I also don't have any preference over CPU brand. Moreover, is there any scope for future upgradability in that build. I'm very new to custom PC build. If I had to pick a graphics card what would you suggest (without bottlenecking the CPU)?
  4. Hello I am thinking of building a custom PC for me. I am on very tight budget. Primary purpose of this build is 720p Gaming in High setting and also Autocad 2D/3D. Please suggest me config for the above purposes. I never owned any custom PC, have no idea about PC building. A detailed guide would be highly appreciated. Looking forward to current generation components.
  5. I rarely use the optical drive, to be more specific I used it years ago...
  6. I will use the ssd as primary drive and will use the original hdd as media drive in place of dvd drive using a hdd caddy. Is that a good idea?
  7. Hello Everyone, I have a Lenovo G510 laptop. Configuration is as follows: 4th Gen Intel Core i3 4000M 6 GB RAM AMD Radeon HD 8570 2 GB 500 GB HDD Recently I have been facing very slow boot and application startup. Sometimes Chrome takes about 15-20 sec to load properly and booting takes about 2-3 min. So I am thinking of installing a SSD and replacing the DVD drive with a secondary HDD. So could you please suggest me a SSD with good performance at a reasonable price. Also kindly suggest other solutions for speeding up the boot and app startup.
  8. Thanks for your suggestion. That was very helpful.
  9. thanks for your suggestion. I'm from India. I found this WD SSD almost at $25 on amazon.
  10. thank you! my laptop has a hitachi hdd and i'm not aware of any diagnostic software for that... if you suggest me one, that would be very helpful.
  11. Hello everyone, I have a pretty old laptop. I got this from my university in 2010. Its a Toshiba Satellite Pro C650 with Intel C2D T6570 @ 2.10GHz CPU and 3GB DDR3 RAM. Recently I have noticed a warning in Hard Disk S.M.A.R.T. saying there are 18 bad sectors in the disk. So I was thinking of upgrading my boot drive to a WD WDS120G2G0A 120GB 2.5-inch Internal SSD (Green). Does upgrading to SSD is a reasonable buy for my old laptop which supports SATA II 3gbps only, or shall I buy just a regular hard disk? Seeking your thoughts.
