  1. I gave my new RX 6600 a good testing. It replaced my 4GB RX580 and I realise now I cannot use my PC to heat my room while I game anymore... Its dropping to under 18C so I am off to bed rather than putting the heater on.
  2. I have many now, I actively seek out the apple or HomeKit option. Everything just seems to work really well and it makes my life easier to support my household if we all use the same devices. It's worth it for less headaches.
  3. I think A, B and C will coexist. I think B will go eventually too but as its pretty uncommon I am not bothered by it like I am Micro and Mini USB which need to go ASAP! Also, lightening has had its time, not that it was bad, it just is time to phase out. As others had said, there is no rush to replace A with C, this would create way too much e-waste. (USB Micro and Mini devices are e-waste already due to the flimsy ports)
  4. Every draw has it's own population of cables
  5. I regularly wash my cheap wired headphones in the washing machine, really prevents that wax buildup
  6. It ain’t worth it bruv mate. A person trying to buy systems to scrape data will be all over it. wipe those drives, reinstall bare bones and let the system use windows default drivers and an unregistered windows, who needs custom desktop images anyways?
  7. Prices likely to stay as is, no reason for them to drop or go up greatly.
  8. I tried a DDU and it seemed to work for a bit. For now the first boot doesn't seem to work, no output. Hit restart and it works. To me it feels like a capacitor issue or something like that.
  9. This test normally runs fine. For a few months it would occasionally only run games at a few FPS but a quick reboot would restore normal FPS counts. I guessed it was on the way out but hoped it would be some time away. Today it took 5 boots to get a signal and then later I had to turn off at the wall and turn back on again to get a signal from GPU. The MoBo DP port works just fine and I can remote in via Steam Link too. I might have to switch to the onboard graphics as it has more FPS than my GPU right now. Any thoughts on a quick fix or shall I start shopping? I am looking at the 6500XT.
  10. Also dont forget the new power connector, a powerful PSU now may not even play nice connectivity wise.
  11. The gloves are off, or on, or whatever
  12. I have never been a watch person, tried it when young but ditched it after school when I got a phone. Been using a phone for time since early 2000s but I was finally convinced to wear a watch when the Apple watch got good a few years back. I'm now a watch wearer again, for the first time in over 18 years.
  13. This review does a good job of showing your drive is operating as expected, if not slightly better. https://www.servethehome.com/wd-sn750-se-1tb-nvme-ssd-review-pcie-gen4-ish/3/
  14. Whack on a decedent CPU cooler, get good case airflow and modern systems overclock themselves. Overclocking is far removed from what it was 5+ years ago and is now mostly entertainment rather than anything of practical use.
  15. My RX580 seemed like a silly upgrade at the time, hardly any performance bump but it turned out to be a sound investment as it’s still going and will likely keep going. fingers crossed, wood touched
  16. It has a one in 7 chance of ending on a Monday.
  17. Scalpers have been around for millennia, as long as exchanging things of value has existed, why? The answer is simple, they make money! Why haven’t we fixed it yet? Well as long as there are people who will buy inflated prices then scalpers will exist. It’s not a problem that can easily be fixed top down, you have to start at the bottom, the people actually buying the items.
  18. Self driving cars make most sense when all cars drive themselves. The other issue is people live right next to roads, ideally there would be more separation between people and cars, if we stopped cars going down our residential streets and only got in them on main roads with separation from cyclists and pedestrians it would be better. Until that time there are some big issues to overcome.
  19. I guess it’s because I always sell old stuff not last year stuff to fund this year’s model as I sell as not working on eBay. I state in the description that I have tested it and it functions etc. I set the starting bid to $1 and let it go. Never been disappointed yet with the sale price.
