About Too Poor!

  • Title
    Newbie
  1. I initially wanted to get an MSI motherboard for that reason, but I ended up changing my mind after seeing all the issues people had with them... The MAX motherboards are also taking forever to come out in NA and my patience is running thin (been waiting since late July). That's why I wanted to go with another manufacturer. The NVMe SSD is a good idea, I'll get that instead of a SATA III SSD.
  2. Well, nothing has been purchased aside from a few peripherals, which is why I wanted to double-check my choices first. Thanks for the feedback!
  3. This was originally posted on r/buildapc, but after getting a whopping 0 replies there, here I am. A second opinion on this build would be appreciated. What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better. I intend to use this build mostly for single player gaming. I will play a lot of AAA games on it (AC Origins and Odyssey, The Witcher 3, etc.) as well as any indie titles that may pique my interest in the future. I've also started making plans for a Youtube channel, so there will be some photo and video editing on the side. I will not overclock my CPU. If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings) I bought a 1080p 144hz monitor when it was on sale last month (more on that in the "additional details section"), so I'll be playing my games at... well 1080p 144hz on the highest settings. What is your budget (ballpark is okay)? About $1500 CAD before tax. I can go slightly over that, but only if I have a very good reason to. In what country are you purchasing your parts? Canada. Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please). I'm not actually getting a reference 5700, I just used it as a placeholder and manually set the price because the Red Devil is not currently listed on PCPP. It seems like the ASRock B450 Steel Legend comes pre-updated with Ryzen 3000 compatibility if you get it from amazon.com. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Yes, a 1440p monitor would have been a better fit for me, but I'm past my return window, so I'll have to get one at a later date (probably on black friday). The Fractal Design Meshify C comes with two case fans. Are those going to be enough or will I need to get more if I want to have optimal airflow? Thank you for taking time out of your day to help me out.
