because it’s overpriced. WAY overpriced. The SN850x is also a better drive when all results are taken in, and it’s usually cheaper from what I can see. The Rocket 4 Plus G is also a better drive considering that it has better directstorage perf, which is the only real advantage 4.0 will have over 3.0 once it releases since 3.0 drives are already barely slower to boot and load games IRL, and really good all-round perf vs the 990 pro.

And since the OP already has a 4.0 primary drive to boot off of, there’s no need to get a second 4.0 drive.

I've long since written off "Tom" as a good source of anything.  The comments section helps more than the reviews do.

The P2 is just fine...  For gaming it's just fine.  It's mediocre but if you can notice the difference....  Even Linus and crew can't tell per their video, and they test and play with them a.  Decent reviews...

I think it would benefit the OP more to touch on how drives and files work, how gaming files are relatively small and never let a drive get into its sustained transfer speeds which are the hallmark of Pro drives.

Think of it like driving a Ferrari thru your neighborhood.  It's fast as shit but too many stop signs and turns never let it stretch its legs.  That's gaming.  A whole shitload of small files making the drive stop and look for the next, then load, then look, then load.  Things like 4-8K video editing can use files in the 10's of GB size, where a PRO drive can keep on the highway and just unleash the speed at a constant.

SSD speeds are mostly selling hype when it comes to speeds.

Because games barely need more than 1200mbps (according to Linus), hell, even the most demanding games only uses about 300-500mbps, I tested this myself, Spider-man Remastered while swinging through the cities at 100+fps. No other game I've ever tested uses that much SSD.
Which means, any decent gen 3 SSD should suffice.

The average user won't benefit from having pro or prosumer grade SSDs, it would just be a waste of money.

    Thinkpad P17
If you dont want to spend 5 grand on a gaming laptop, Thinkpad P70

I daily used a thinkpad P50 for work and games while traveling until very recently, if you need something durable, reliable and generally solid then you shouldnt be looking at consumer gaming laptops. Theyre not meant to handle a lot of that.
The P50 with its Xeon E3 1505m v5 and 4gb Quadro M2000m made short work of GTA V in 1080p. Thats a max spec p50, thats a mid-spec P70 since the P70 had even better gpu options. The P50 being 15" and the P70 being 17"

Thats what i would suggest, used thinkpad P70, specced as high as you feel like paying for. You can get a P70 with a 4k screen, i7 or xeon, quadro m4000m, etc for sub 700$ in the US anyway, but usually they will require an OS reinstall or maybe a replacement part of some variety.
This one for example has a minor scratch on the display and requires a key down arrow key, but considering the entire keyboard for one of these is a 5 minute replacement and costs like 40 bucks, id just replace the entire keyboard.

kinda just an example, but if budget isnt a concern, basically just get a new P17. You can get a pretty entry level specced P17 Gen 2 for like 1500$ USD, thats usually with an 11th gen i5, a quadro t1200 and 16gb of ram, but i personally would prefer an older machine with all of the little peripheral features over a new one with none of those, a pantone color calibrated 4k display is not needed, but it is cool to have

Screen size bigger is better, performance faster is better, weight is no concern, future proof as many years as possible...

But if you look at Geek bench android benchmarks, the xiaomi mi 8 scored 2292 and the redmi note 5 pro (which also uses a 636 processor) scored a paltry 1327! The difference is nearly 73%! Where is this huge score difference going to manifest in real life performances though?

Hi there, I want to find a desktop or anything, that generates or blows a lot of heat from its systems and it can be used as a space heater over the winter. Right now I have a dell optiplex 620, equipped with an ancient pentium d 915 cpu, and it actually generates a considerable amount of heat to warm my legs. Do you guys know any better performing PC, AMD or Intel, cpubenchmark 2000>, that generates an absolutely stunning amount of heat that warms your legs up in cold days?
