Sorry, I have misread that then...Ask ASUS why the hell the monitor isn't assembled, and ask them how to assemble it

ManIkWeet reacted to The Sloth in OnePlus 5’s Display is Inverted( they screwed up the display, now it has a Jellylike effect)
it's because AMOLED uses pulse width modulation to control brightness and it applies voltage to part of the screen which runs like a stripe from top to bottom repetitively, this can also happen to an LCD display.

ManIkWeet got a reaction from AlTech in Microsoft still commited to Windows 10 Mobile despite what sensationalist journalists are saying
I got a Windows Phone... The lack of apps is just sad.
No UWP isn't fixing that, Netflix for example has an UWP desktop app that isn't used for mobile.
There is no clear dedication to Windows Phone from Microsoft's side, so developers are staying away until this changes.
Ancient bugs in the W10M are still present, like the live-tiles not updating. I currently have no hope in the platform ever succeeding.
I hate Andriod and iOS more by the way...

ManIkWeet got a reaction from AlTech in AMD files complaint against LG, Sigma, & others on gpu patent infringement
Unless these are false claims, which I doubt (misinformed maybe?), I support AMD protecting their inventions.
(Yes someone could've invented the same thing without knowing about the existence of it, but as long as the patent system is there I support the use of it)

ManIkWeet got a reaction from That Norwegian Guy in dark clouds looming in the video cards supply chain - inventory levels are up, sales are down
Maybe they shouldn't have hiked the price up so much... Smaller chipset larger costs ¬¬
Remember that they went from 28nm to 14nm, so they practically doubled the output per-wafer (minus some manufacturing errors).
The cards are too expensive, that's all.

ManIkWeet reacted to Mira Yurizaki in The reasons there are so few G-sync monitors compared to FreeSync
Honestly I'd wish NVIDIA would suck it up and support adaptive sync because then they could have both standards and a leg-up on AMD.

ManIkWeet reacted to laminutederire in Oppo's First UHD Blu-Ray Player, Coming Soon
First of all, if you want people to take you seriously, lose the caps, it's annoying and a childish gimmick.
1) space isn't a matter that much, you can put up to 100 copies of blu-rays on a server grade 5TB hard-drive. It is easier to browse through and move around than 100 disks. That's why some people do this. If you take good care of your drives, it'll last a decade and you'll have time to see a failure coming.
2) I'm sad for you if you spend all day long at home using your Internet connection. Technically speaking you can download those in about 2 to 3 hours, so you can start the download in the morning and it'll be finished for long when you get back.
You know the maximum size of a blu-ray disk right? It's 25GB or 50GB as of now, bigger capacities aren't used in that context yet. That means that they're not that massively huge and you could theoretically download them.
You know that bitrate isn't the only thing in the world to describe the quality of a movie. Lossless compression exists for a reason.
You can't because it's not necessary for everyone to have each of their millions of pixels to be perfect, since most of us tolerate to even some of them differ a bit. It's always the same debate though. It may be technically better, but when you can't see the difference, is it worth it?
By the way if you want to talk about durable medium, transcript all your blu-rays on magnetic tapes.

ManIkWeet got a reaction from JAKEBAB in Data Protection Supervisor prohibits Facebook-WhatsApp data exchange
The data is very sensitive: Even if you've never used Facebook, they will be able to link you through your WhatsApp contacts. They will know your name, phonenumber, contacts and eventually location. Based on location they can figure out your family, interests, job and lifestyle. Once they've gotten that information, they will look through photos that are posted by friends/family and figure out what you look like (and gender), combined with photo metadata that is usually attached. By then they have a complete Facebook account without you ever making one. They can now use this information to do research, sell advertisements, suggest gifts to relatives etc.
All that by simply linking your phone number and name... Data mining is the biggest market available.
