I needed to update the bios for the board to load with an RX 570. It does boot to windows. I needed driver in win 7. Just tried win 10 and it seems fine. I just find it annoying that Intel stop hosting driver files when the x79 is still very capable. I can find drivers for an x38 board of 2007 of any manufacturer but Intel went ahead and removed these from their website after 5 years.... Anyway thanks all for the quick answer

My x79-up4 board died a month ago, so I got an Intel DX79Si of EBAY. I've been looking through Intel’s website and could not find anything else than the latest bios revision. Looking with waybackmachine https://web.archive.org/web/20150918230750/https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/55799/Intel-Desktop-Board-DX79SI I found the network drivers but that’s about it. Anyone know where I can acquire a full set of driver or an ISO of the original disc maybe? Thank you

Got a gigabyte (which are a lot more expensive for some reason) for 105$can+10$ shipping to run crossfire with the one i already owned. 100$ should be good. Thing is people don’t want to buy them used because most of them have been abused on mining rig.... can't understand why a gtx 660 still goes for 140$-150$can....

go used. found a 7970 for 100$can still very performing GPU and much better then the 750 and the 260x

Lowest priced MOBO that supports SLI
christ_himself replied to DvDGamer's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
sli and crossfire brings a lot more problems and limitation. exemple: they wont work when not in full screen. inexistant driver for a particular game. For the price you should be getting a 970 which will perform better overall. Always aim for single card setup if available for the amount of performance you want. If not available then sli /crossfire make sense. sli/crossfire is never a good idea on brand new product unless you are aiming at the top tier 980/970 it's a good solution down the road. you grab a second 960 used for half the price of an upgrade. If you are planning to run 2 gpu you could then aim for the 290/290x which will perform better for the same amount of power needed Also don't forget you are going to need and bigger power supply to support 2 cards -
SilverStone EBA01 Headphone stand Where to buy in canada
christ_himself replied to christ_himself's topic in Audio
i have access to cnc machines, i'm a technician in mechanical engineering , but i don't have time to build one. i have enough project right now. i'm looking for an off the shelf solution that looks good and is well built under 75$can shipped -
Hi everyone, I have been looking for a headphone stand for a few months now and I can't seem to find one that I like after watching lunis's review on the Silverstone EBA01 I decided would get one https://www.vessel.com/videos/Ntl2wwXOS But I can't seem to find it anywhere. Amazon has one listed for 150$..... And I found the listing for one at http://www.ncix.com/detail/silverstone-eba01s-high-quality-aluminum-da-105485.htm but they are back order and only in silver. I want the black one. Where can I find one in Canada to prevent additional duty fee. Tanks You

Entry level gaming PC parts list
christ_himself replied to Maracks10's topic in New Builds and Planning
I would get rid of the extra 30$ for the evo 212 and put that money on a better graphic card. for a gaming pc overall you will be a lot happyer with a better Card than an oc'ed cpu. or you could upgrade from the pentium to a i3, it would give you hyperthreading the i3 might be a good step since more and more game use multhreading now. i would not go for a dualcore in 2015 for a gaming pc even on a budget build your friend could look for used parts too. I just got a second gigabyte 7950 refurbishied for 117$can shipping inclued. he can also find some gtx 580 for 80$ on kijiji or craiglist in either case i would get rid of the evo and put that 30$ somewhere more usefull edit: https://www.vessel.com/videos/bYcknWpiU this pretty somes up what i was trying to say -

I reseted my bios setting to default after the bios update and tried it whit the same result. i have been running at this oc with the first 7950 for around 2 years with no crash what so ever i dont get any crash with the new card alone either
