Will attach a picture soon, but the amount of paste in the socket is seemingly minimal.

My main question is, what are the symptoms of paste in the socket? The PC I'm working on is having blue screen after blue screen, wondering if that's the cause.

I did not think they would actually finish this successfully, or that if they did it would have even close to comparable performance to separate machines. Damn.

However my ever present question with crazy builds like this, and this one in particular - what are they going to do with it? Since they're not actually going to use it, are they going to just disassemble it? There's no way they can recoup the cost of this build with just the videos about it.

My dad previously hired me to build him a Mac clone. Not a hackintosh, but a competing piece of hardware to replace the ol' trashcan his editor was using (previous mac pro). My config ended up as a 10 core i9 PC with a GTX 1080 and a 970 Evo, purpose built for Adobe renders. Came to about $6000, kills the competing iMac pro model in every way. Well, this time around I had a new goal:
    Make it smaller.
    Make it faster.
    Make it half the price.
    The result:

First with the fitting came some spacing issues, the Force MP600 comes with a thicc heat sink so the rear mounted SSD has no sheathing.

Still, can't really worry about it too much.

Hahaha what clearance issue? I don't need 2 CPU fans

You'll notice I forgot the front panel, and all its connectors. That was fun to redo.

The result is a killer little workstation for production on the go, whether you need to set up at home, in the office, or in your hotel room.

Any suggestions for stress tests? I'll share the metrics.

Very useful if you have sensitive data you wouldn't want to lose in case of a fire. Also useful for vehicles like planes that can crash and burst into flames.

Don't trust them lol, i had some problems with ram which was compatible according to asus' list snd the ram list, both in an email for which i had to wait half a week they that it wouldn't work. In the end i just did a bios update and everything was ok.

I'd suggest trying a different cable(/monitor if possible). It might even be a faulty port on the monitor.

Do you have a dedicated gpu,
if so did you plug the displayport into it, because if you have one your motherboard will default to it
if not does your cpu have an igpu, because then there may no be anything to power any graphics at all

Does the GPU power up (fans spin)?
Can you try a different port on the monitor or a different monitor entirely?

barondeau reacted to Alex Atkin UK in USB 3.0 in a USB 3.1 Port
You need to check the motherboard headers.  There are basically USB 1/2.0, USB 3.x (the wide pin connectors usually with a blue plastic surround) and USB-C headers (doesn't have pins, looks more like a SATA port).

USB 3.x and USB-C headers can effectively be any version of USB 3 electrically, although USB-C is more likely to be USB 3.1 Gen 2.

USB 3.0 and USB 3.1 Gen 1 are basically the same thing, they just renamed it to confuse everyone.

First of all, i suggest you show a bit more respect to others, people go out of their way to help others (at least try to). So instead of saying "useless answer" engage in a conversation.
Also most internal drives (3,5") are 7200 rpm, this is somewhat noticeably faster than 5400.
The answer you might be looking for is the one 79wjd gave.
