    RTX 2060 Windforce OC temperature

My card still gets up into the 70's because of my OC, that's where the throttling starts kicking in I think. With this card it was super easy to reapply the thermal paste. 6 screws, remove the heatsink/fans, clean with some recommended paste cleaner (I used acetone with coffee filters) carefully so as not to accidentally pry off anything, apply small amount of noctua paste, reseat heatsink/fan module, rescrew. Easy. Leave it about 20 minutes to let the paste set.

    RTX 2060 Windforce OC temperature

So, ran 3d Mark Time Spy. My original oc graphics score was 8230 My latest oc graphics score is 8303. So not much of a jump there. But in game the card runs much cooler and at idle too which means the case is also cooler. So I think with this oc running the card over 2000MHz at a stable temp is fantastic. When I check other reviews my rtx2060 is running more in the rtx2070/gtx1080 range. So with all the drama lately over gfx cards I can finally conclude that my upgrade from a gtx780 was well worth the 350USD.

    RTX 2060 Windforce OC temperature

Changed thermal paste to noctua thermal paste. Let it sit idle for 40 minutes now and the idle temperature is 31. So a drop of 16%. Hopefully I will attain a better over lock now. Will post results tonight.

    RTX 2060 Windforce OC temperature

whoa, just noticed a possible easy fix. After running the OC scanner again I saw that the gpu clock when in desktop dropped from the usual 1350 down to 300MHz. I think it changed the preferences in the Nvidia control panel setting power management to adaptive. This dropped my idles down to 37 from the usual 50. I will still reapply new thermal paste tomorrow just for the fun of it but thought I should mention that it might pay to check out your power management settings

    RTX 2060 Windforce OC temperature

Hi guys, I have the same card and have been wondering the same thing. It idles at 50 and I see that other brand 2060 cards idle in the mid 30s. I#m going to apply some new thermal paste tomorrow and will post if I see any improvements! Oh forgot to add, I have been messing around with the OC scanner so now I get 2010-2040MHz in games now, pushed the memory clock +601 which is stable through the test and after about 2 hours of Rainbow 6 at 1080p at 130/160fps. Fan speeds ranged from 40-70% which is audible without headphones and the highest temps were 74. I hope to get the temps down into the 60s just for peace of mind and also to see if I can push the oc slightly further and stay stable

    1660 Ti or 2060?

Man here in Sweden if you spend over like 50USD you always get free shipping. Lol, Oh well man, good luck. Get a decent monitor too dude, totally worth it

    1660 Ti or 2060?

Nah 2 fans. I was trying to decide between the two, the Zotac was out of stock so I got this one. I think I could have looked into the specs a little closer but i thought in the end I wouldnt really notice the difference. Also, I plan to sort out some type of water cooling for the card in the future I think.

    Overclocks for a RTX 2060

Thanks for the reply Turtle Rig Would you suggest I push the Core higher? Even try manually setting the core? I've never done it manually before but dont mind learning.

    1660 Ti or 2060?

Oh I should also say, I have a 1080p monitor and it runs at 60Hz. That was the deciding factor for me really. The best card to pair with my setup. No point getting anything faster for now.

    1660 Ti or 2060?

I just purchased a 2060 about a month ago. Initially I was a bit underwhelmed but realised it was mostly driver issues and things I had done to my system to my old card were still in place affecting my new 2060. For example, I had left launch instructions specific to my old card in place and forgot to remove them. It was causing weird fps drops in PUBG and other games. Took me a week to realise what i did wrong. Lol. Anyway, now that I have sorted that out and pushed my 2060 a bit with some oc'ing I am super happy. I get 2070 results for less $ and the word on the street is that the 2060 turned out to be the best of the RTX series when considering $ per frame. And you get a free game.

    Overclocks for a RTX 2060

Hi All, Quick question. I just purchased a GeForce RTX 2060 and have tried my first GPU overclock. I used MSI Afterburner and followed some youtube videos on how to use the OC Scanner. The Core Clock is now set to "Curve" and I set the memory clock to "+1000", and fan speed to auto. The power limit and temp limit were also set to max. And I did nothing to the core voltages. So in BF5 I get nice frames, in the 70's for the most part at 1080p. I am running this on an i7 2600k @ stock (waiting on a Dark Rock Pro for CPU overclocking) So my question is that ingame, BF5, I get 2020MHz on the GPU clock and 8002MHz on the Memory clock, all while staying under 70Degrees C. Does this sound ok to everyone? Have I stumbled into my first oc'ing gracefully? Thanks for any and all advice.

Thanks Vexicus! I watched a video saying that the most important thing for PSU's was actually the efficiency rating. In which case I am happy to shell out for a really good one, as it is most of the motivation behind the build. Also, do you think a 980ti will be ok streaming r6s? at high fps?

Right! Well my budget is limited, but I am happy to buy second hand. Infact, you could argue that maybe second hand is better for this build. I am located in Sweden so prices will be a bit higher than in the States or Asia I guess. The theme of the build is that I will be streaming games but with a "sustainable" motivation. If that makes sense. Basically, I want the build to reflect my channels ideals, which is that gaming doesn't have to be an environmental hazard (lots of plastics wasted). I would like something that has no RGB and smallest energy/carbon foot print as possible. If that is possible at all.
